Up, the curtain flies
I meet your eyes
You're my worst habit
In a thick brown jacket
The crowds await
You step on stage
The silence grows
I take a step, real slow
I hope you know your lines
Because I won't forget mine
And we draw the crowds up around us
The attention from fans astounds us
And the world is on the edge of its seat
While we just perform the same old scene
We're both actors, just playing our parts
I'm the fool and you're the breaker of hearts
There's heartbreak, sorrow, and love
But, baby, we're doing all of the above
The acts of tragedy
Acted out so casually
It's sadder than a page out of Greek mythology
Changing our minds so much, it's neurology
And this is the part where you abandon me
Once again before we start act three
And we draw the crowds up around us
The attention from fans astounds us
And the world is on the edge of its seat
While we just perform the same old scene
We're both actors, just playing our parts
I'm the fool and you're the breaker of hearts
The curtain falls, but the cheers grow
I don't need to ask why, we both know
Oh, baby, it's time for the encore with me now
Won't you do the encore with me now?
There's no time to slow down,
There's no time to go now
So just come back down
Turn the lights back on and lift the curtain sheet
We'll knock them all right off of their feet
You look at me confused,
I feel broken and used
But this is all for the act, this all is for the show,
So won't you break my heart once more before you go?
And we draw the crowds around us
The attention from fans astounds us
And the world is on the edge of its seat
While we perform the same exact scene
We're both actors, just playing our parts
I'm the fool and you're the breaker of hearts

Songs I Wrote
PoetryHere are some songs I wrote. The ones that end in (Old Song) are ones I wrote when I was 14. They're not all that good, but I thought it'd be cool to have my old songs here alongside my new ones. I think it shows how much I've changed and improved...
