Chapter 31
DisasterAlonso's Point of View
I decided to stay here in my office instead of going out with Eunice, my girlfriend and also my assistant.
A knock on the door made me stand up from my seat. I diverted my gaze to Natasha. I can tell that she's nervous and a little uneasy.
"Good morning Dean Alonso. I'm Natasha's father. It's a pleasure to meet you," a tall man with a beard greeted me.
Nakipagkamay ako sa kaniya. "Likewise. Please have a seat."
When they're all settled, I also took a seat.
"Yes about that." I nodded at Eunice. She took it as a sign and opened the flat screen TV that was attached on the wall just behind me. I'm sure your daughters mentioned we're having that activity."
"Yes, they've told us. But what does it have to do with us being here?" naiinip na tanong nang ama ni Mendoza.
"You are all here because it has something to do with your daughters."
Nagtaka ang mga ito. "What do you mean?"
I pressed the play button using the remote.
"The girl who went missing that day is Miss Sevilla and I'm positive you'll recognize your daughters faces. Please tell me Mr. Marquez, nandiyan ba ang anak mo?" I said.
"Now take a look. Tingnan niyo kung ano ang nangyari," as I said that Val's body fall on the ground. I heard someone gasped, others whispered. "Look at how Miss Marquez pointed at the unconscious body of her schoolmate while talking to that guy and then you can see them lifting her and bringing her somewhere ne-"
"That's not true! Dad hindi 'yon totoo, believe me. Natasha shouted and stood up.
His father forcefully grabbed her arm and pulled her down onto the seat.
"Shut up you insolent brat," suway niya.
"But she-"
"Why are you in that footage? What did you do to that kid?"
"No, wala akong kinalaman d'yan Dad. He's just lying!" she exclaimed and pointed me. "All of them are. They're trying to set me up!"
