Forgiving hearts

A person that looks past all imperfections

Accepts the past and you for who you truly are, these are the ones the endure the most heartbreaks

These are the people with hearts of gold that constantly tell others they are worth it and deserve better but can say the same to themselves

Souls so pure and broken that wish nothing but happiness on the ones that enter their lives

Hearts as big as the moon and as bright as the sun with cracks and missing pieces pretend as if they've never been hurt when entering a new relationship

Only to be hurt again by someone they chose to trust and look for the good in, giving multiple chances refusing to want the bitter taste of those words

The words these souls hear multiple time and feel a piece of them die on the inside

Heart shattering with betrayal is all to familiar for the ones who wear their hearts on their sleeves

They cry in private but assure you that your actions towards them and the cause of this ending is understandable 

But deep down these fragile hearts know THEY CAN'T TAKE ANOTHER HEARTBREAK, they can't handle another lie or a fake I love you

THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE TO...

So why do we?

We sit trying to heal those in need knowing in the end we will be broken even more afterwards

Until one day these beautiful hearts of ours developed into nothing but ash, the glow and light we once had has been diminished by too many " I didn't mean it" or " I promise I won't do it anymore."

WHY DO FORGIVING HEARTS LOSE!!!! WE DESERVE TO FIND SOMEONE LOVING ENOUGH TO LOVE US THE WAY WE LOVE THEM!

WE ARE good enough and now demand nothing but what we deserve

The broken promises are over the golden heart once open for all to shatter and use a piece of to repair their own is now made of the strongest steel with concrete walls. 

So don't ask a person who once had a forgiving heart why they've changed, it was for the better.
