I don't exactly know when the next arc is going to be released as it takes me weeks to thoroughly plan out and link all the chapters together, so, I have decided that every Sunday and Wednesday, before it comes out, I will try to release a small teaser which shows some small snippets of scenes to come.
"Let go of it! It's mine!" Y/N screamed at the MP as he took some bread off of a starving little boy. How could she just allow this? How could she just allow them to exploit their needs and wants?! They were human too! Every single person within the walls were human.
"Get off your little brat!" He aimed to kick the small girl as she fought with him for the bread. However, Y/N persevered. She wouldn't allow others to be treated like how the MPs treated her.
"Oi oi!" She looked over as Kenny stormed over, his hat tilted forward. "Pickin' on a child, eh, Phin? How weak. You wouldn't want me to tell ya know who of your disloyalty, would ya?" He threw the man a grin as Y/N looked at her mentor with a confused expression.
Every now and then Kenny would disappear above the walls - come back with lavish food and gifts, the things Y/N used to experience back up there. She had never truly realised how much she had taken it for granted.
"N-No Kenny! Please, please don't tell King U-" The man got cut off as a knife went through his chest. He clutched his lower abdomen as blood began to seep through his expensive shirt - Y/N watched in pure horror as the life faded from his eyes until all that was left was a hollow look, a dead look.
She dropped to her knees beside him as the man fell to the ground, not caring as the man's blood stained her hands. "Wake up! Wake up! I can get you help!"
Before she could scream anymore, Kenny had grabbed her by the arm and pulled her up, turning her to face him. He knelt down to her level and rested a large hand on her shoulder.
"D'ya remember what I told you and Levi the other day?"
All Y/N could do was shake her head softly. She couldn't think, she couldn't concentrate. The only thing on her mind was the memory of the light fading from the man's eyes.
"You don't survive easily. You either be a weakling and die, or become your own enemy to protect the lives of your friends. Take yer' pick."
Her eyes widened as she finally remembered. It was the advice he'd given them after she had backed away from a fight, a fight that had placed Levi in danger.
"What do you choose, Y/N?"
"I'll be my own enemy. I'll protect everyone I love - no matter the cost."
"Good."
