A/N - I don't know how long this chapter is going to be so I put the hour version in!
Don't play music yet please and thank you! 🙏🏻
I also want to say here that working out calculations for this book is too complicated so can we just pretend I know what I'm doing? Thank you. Also, some more hints will be dropped about Y/N's mother in this chapter so keep a a close eye out. There were some hints in chapter 4 I think? so if you missed that then I advise you go back, as these hints will be important for the future of the story. Levi is a bit OOC, but cut him some slack it's his wedding.
Y/N
"This is wonderful! When is the date? I'll handle the finances, my dear, you don't need to worry." I chuckle nervously as my grandfather rambles about the wedding. "Levi and I wanted to do this on our own actually, I appreciate it but I don't want you wasting your money."
"Wasting it? Haha! Wasting it? My only granddaughter is getting married! At the right age too!" I nod slightly with a nervous smile on my face. "I expect there to be babies made on the wedding night!" Heat rises up onto my cheeks.
"W-What?!" He laughs. God he's like Hanji with that topic. All she does is ramble on and on about 'Shorty babies' or 'humanity's strongest children'. "I know the perfect place for the after party, and in fact, I know one for the ceremony. Your parents got married there actually."
I nod slightly, willing to listen. If we got married where my parents did, I would feel so much closer to my mother. Even if she was a very mysterious woman, as father would tell me. Before she passed on, all she would tell me about was the outside world and how beautiful it was. It was as if she'd actually been out there.
Grandfather insists I dress into a more 'ladylike' dress before we leave. I do just to make him satisfied, even though it felt slightly uncomfortable after not wearing something like this for years. Though, I suppose a wedding dress would be much more uncomfortable.
As we walk through town, I begin to feel a sense of nostalgia. From when I used to run through the streets with Marie as Erwin and his friends chased after us. To when my family used to stroll down the market together to get some new books or food. No matter what happens, this place is my home and it always will be.
We arrive at this beautiful hall. It looked small in size but as Grandfather opened the large doors, my mouth dropped in awe. It was so grand, and gorgeous. I hope Levi will love it as much as I do. He guides me down the aisle and shows me every little detail.
"Your mother may not have been around you for too long, but your father loved her very much and wanted the best for her. I have a feeling he knew more about her than what he let on though. Like I always say, your mother was a very mysterious woman, and I think she knew more about the world than anyone else. She was as secretive as she was beautiful." I nod slightly, remembering my mother was always hard for me. She had disappeared when I was 5 years old and the MPs had showed up at our door one night saying she was found dead. Father had always resented the MPs after that.
Now that I think about it, did they do to me what they did to my mother? Or did they kill her like they did with father. I've been overground for almost a year now, and Erwin had always seemed more in control of his emotions, though I could see in his eyes the hatred. He resented the MPs, and to be honest, so did I. For different reasons than him.
Grandfather then led me to this huge building, and when we went inside, it seems to be able to fit around 1,000 guests! Now we weren't having that many, but it means there would be a lot of room for dancing.
"Oh! There is one more thing I want to show you." He smiles, guiding me down a different path. When we arrive in front of my old home, I can't help but frown sadly. "After you disappeared and your father passed away, I bought this house so Erwin would always have a place to call home."
