I Remember You... (A Levi x Reader) (Rewritten)

Chapter 4

A/N - OOO I think you guys will like this chapter~! It's what you've all been waiting for! Don't play the song yet because there's gonna another song halfway through that I need you to play before listening to it. 😬 I don't normally write song-fics but just for this chapter and another short one in the future there shall be singing.

"Hi, Claire." I smile, walking into the orphanage. The middle-aged lady waves at me. I go up to the counter and place down a small cardboard box. It was full with cans of beans. "Sorry, I couldn't get any bread this week." She shakes her head with a smile.

"Y/N, what you're doing is enough." I close my eyes with a smile. Father always used to do that when Erwin and I messed around, guess I got it from him. "I just.. want to help the vulnerable. Can I go see the kids?" I ask with my finger pointed towards the stairs.

Claire was a lady who cared for children she found on the streets. She was a caring lady who was unable to have children of her own because her husband sadly passed away. The orphanage happens to be the abandoned building Levi and I used to sleep in, and she helped us get food for a couple years until we could manage on our own.

Levi doesn't know I come here every week, so I have to be sure to get home on time otherwise he'll freak out. "Of course you can." I nod and make my way upstairs, kicking their door open and pulling out finger guns, aiming it at them. "Heya rugrats!" They all cheer and aim theirs at me.

They begin to shoot so I duck down onto the ground. "Ha missed me!" One of the little girls on the bed pretend to shoot me through the heart, so I clutch it in pretend pain and collapse to the ground. "Oh no. You got me!" They all giggle, and jump-hug me.

"Ah! The little monsters have taken over me!" They all climb off of me and eagerly jump up and down. "Can you sing for us, Y/N?!" I blush slightly and nod, taking a seat on the chair in the corner of room and motioning for them to come closer.

A/N - I'm sorry but I love Frozen 2 and All if Found is just beautiful. Also, text in bold is Y/N singing, and this is in the past where Y/N's mother would sing to her before she passed on. This is both of them singing

"Where the north wind... meets the sea. There's a river full of memory..."

"Sleep my darling safe and sound.. for in this river all is found..." the young mother sings as she cradles her 4 year old daughter in her arms. She had a mission to complete, she wasn't supposed to fall in love, and she wasn't supposed to have a child with an Eldian.

"In her waters... deep and true, lie the answers and a path for you."

"Dive down deep into her sound, but not too far or you'll be drowned..." She tickles her daughter making her giggle.

"Yes she will sing to those who'll hear,

And in her song.. all magic flows.

But can you brave what you most fear? Can you face what the river knows?"

"Where the north wind meets the sea..."

"There's a mother full of memory. Come my darling homeward bound..."

"When all is lost..."

"And all is found.."

The kids smile at me in awe. "Wow... Y/N! Where did you learn that song?" I smile warmly at them, and stand up. "My mother used to sing it to me. I don't know where she got it from."
