Hoping to get the final 2 chapters of this arc up tonight or tomorrow, and then I'm unfortunately going to have to take a break whilst I get my exams finished.

unfortunately they are both going to be quite short, as I am going through a lot of stress and severe mental suffering as of right now, due to multiple things. I did have a brain scan a few weeks ago, and they still haven't gotten back to us due to covid stopping the specialist from even looking at my scan yet - but I promise I'll try my hardest. Don't worry though, I have my 'girlfriend' (we are not official yet) to help me through it ❤️

The aftermath of all that had happened was painful.

Remembering all the lives that had fallen, remembering all the souls that had been lost, remembering all of the bodies she had to deal with... it was almost terrifying.

-

"Mama!" She nearly broke down into hysterics as she heard her daughter's voice calling for her, and when she turned around and faced the wide, blue eyes of her little girl, she was suddenly thankful she had made it out alive.

"Izzy thought of mama, she knew she could do it!"Isabella smiled up at her, showing one of her wide and toothy grins. "Mama is the strongest person Izzy has ever met!"

It wasn't all easy though. To her, killing titans was the easy part, but seeing the cold and dead faces of her friends and comrades, that was the hard part, and knowing you'd never see them smile again was the most difficult of it all.

It made her think. What was the real reason she joined the Military before she had lost her memories? What was the real reason why she endured the pain and suffering of the Survey Corps? There had to be a reason.

There had to be a purpose for all that she did. Seeing so many people lose their lives was something horrific, and scarring. Which led to a whole new form of guilt.

She couldn't even remember the faces of those she lost before she lost her memories.

She couldn't remember their last words, their last thoughts, their last expression. All she knew before Isabella was a haze, and one name. Levi.

She couldn't be sure, but she had screamed out that name when she had awoken in Trost. She had called out for him as if he meant something to her, as if he was special to her, so something must have happened between them.

Was this Levi the one she was searching for? The one she had been longing for, craving for? Was he the man who drove her to be inspirational, to be strong?

Well, she was strong on her own; but everyone had someone they so desperately wanted to protect. Before Isabella, was Levi the one she wanted to look after? Protect until her last breathe? Was he the one she wanted to love, to cherish, to keep?

For the past 5 years, she has felt whole. But, the feeling of knowing that she finally has a lead was so potent within her that she felt complete.

-

"Y/N. What's on your mind?" Shadis asked her as they walked alongside one another, Y/N's hand holding onto Isabella to prevent her from getting lost.

"Well, sir, I think I've finally found a lead on discovering who I was before I lost my memories."

The man looked down at her, his hands clasped tightly behind his back. "Oh really? And what is that?"

"The name Levi, sir."

Shadis stopped.

'So it is true. She is the young girl we thought we all lost 5 years ago.

"Y/N. I have a document I need you to take to the Survey Corps base for me, can you do that?"

He knew it was sudden, but if there was any chance of returning her to those she loved, he'd take the risk.

"Yes, sir."
