I Remember You... (A Levi x Reader) (Rewritten)

Chapter 17

A/N - Ahhh next chapter will be good. But we need to get this one out of the way first. It's kind of just a boring chapter, just showing how casual Levi and Y/N are around each other.

"Another expedition? Well, Shadis is taking risks." Y/N remarks with a grin as Levi tells her the news. She closes her book and sets it down on the coffee table, before smiling at her 9 month pregnant stomach. "I'm not going." Levi says, which immediately causes Y/N to frown.

"Uh... I mean, you are." She smiles again and walks towards to Levi, helping him take his cloak off. "No. The brat's due any day now. No way am I leaving." Y/N rolls her eyes, hanging his cloak on the hook. She crosses her arms over her stomach, and smirks at him. "You think I can't handle it? Besides, Doctor Jaeger is just down the street."

Levi pauses, before glaring at her menacingly. "You know that's not what I mean you shitty brat." He rolls his eyes and walks towards the kitchen, going to prepare his black tea. "What do you mean then? Enlighten me." Y/N scoffs, following him into the kitchen.

"Tch. Don't start Y/N." Levi clicks his tongue, before pouring the tea into his cup. "I just don't want to leave you alone." He finally admits, causing Y/N to smile gently at him. She walks up to him and strokes his cheek gently. "I'm not going anywhere, Levi. I'll still be here when you get back."

"I know you will... but what if there's another little being in the house and I wasn't there to help you through it?" she rolls her eyes. "I think she wants to meet her Mama and Dada at the same exact time." He smirks at her. "So you felt as if it was a girl too?" She nods with a grin.

"We should get her a puppy." Y/N quickly says before rushing into the living room. "Hold on - we are NOT getting a dog!" She groans, looking over at him. "Why not? She needs a companion for when we go on expeditions, Levi. I'm a section commander, I can't give up my duties."

He scowls at her, before averting his eyes. "I'll think about it." Y/N cheers, knowing that was a yes. "You can't say no to me, haha!" Levi curses to himself as he sits beside her on the sofa. "Levi! She's kicking again!" Y/N looks over at her husband with a smile as he stands up and leans down next to her stomach.

"Hey there, brat. You better not put your mother in too much pain when you come out." She rolls her eyes with a giggle. "Well... either way, you can bet I'm going to spoil you rotten and protect you from any harm in the world."

"You never know, she might not need protecting." Y/N remarks with a bright smile. "Tch. If she's anything like us then she won't." Y/N leans back with a sigh. "I hope we can raise her well seeing as we always leave on expeditions." Levi rolls his eyes and stands up, before sitting back beside her.

"Of course we can, idiot." Y/N looks over at him with a gentle smile. "I mean... you raised yourself most of your life and I was ripped away from my father." Levi smirks at her. "Well at least we know not to die, right?"

"Yeah. Promise me you won't die until this war is over?" Y/N asks with a soft smile, and Levi frowns. You shouldn't ever make a promise on the battlefield. It's always different when you leave the walls. Whatever happens is unexpected. But, he didn't want to upset her. "I...I promise."

"Good. Because I was going to throw away all your tea if you didn't promise." She giggles, leaning her head on his shoulder. Levi sighs and wraps his arm around her neck, pulling her closer towards him. "The brat better not hurt you too much or she's grounded."

Y/N snickers at that. Who grounds a newborn baby? "Yeah right, as if you'd do that." Y/N has a feeling that as soon as Levi lays eyes on the child, he'll instantly fall in love with her. She assumes that she will not be allowed any significant other until she's 22. "Tch." Is all Levi can respond with.

That night whilst they're in bed, Levi gains a heavy gut feeling. A painful one. He felt like he shouldn't go on the expedition, what if something were to happen? Y/N notices his discomfort and grabs his hand with a smile. "I love you forever and always, remember that?"

"Tch. I love you too."
