"I don't like.. Lucas."

I bit my lower lip. I just wanted to be honest with myself. I don't really like him. I just like the thought that he was always with me. I mean, it's not that hard to like him. He has the looks.. the personality.. the intellegence. He was the guy that evey girl wants. Well, not for me.

"Baka ikaw crush mo," I jokingly said, trying to ease the awkwardness.

"The way your eyes light up.. when you are with him." he said in a low voice. "You really looked so happier than before"

"Don't compare my happiness before than my happiness now," I coldly said. "Because I'm not anymore the Maureen that you used to know."

"I see," he nodded.

He glanced at me before walking away. I looked back to look at him but he didn't looked at me. I wiped the tears that was flowing on my cheeks. I don't know what to do anymore. I was trying so hard not to cry when I saw some soldiers walking in my front.

"Miss Maureen, aren't you going inside?" they asked me.

"Later," I gave them a smile.

I inahled a large amount of air and exhaled it slowly before going inside. I saw General Vergara in the lobby talking with Kiel. I was too tired when I got into the hotel room.

"Si Venice nasa kwarto ni Lucas. Ayaw humalay ni Venice sa kaniya, eh." Sabrina told me.

No one opened the door but it wasn't lock so I twisted the door knob. I smiled by myself when I saw Venice on Lucas's arms, sleeping.

He was hugging my daughter. I somehow felt relief. I know that my daughter was in a good hands. I don't know how to thank Lucas for this. Money wasn't enough to thank him. I went to their side and caressed Summer's hair. I stopped when Lucas suddenly move. He was aware of my presence.

"Maureen, i'm sorry nakatulog ak-"

"Shush, don't talk." I covered his mouth using my index finger. "Just sleep. I know you're tired, too."

He smiled bere he sat down on the bed. He was moving slowly so Venice wouldn't wake up. I was sitting on the other side of the bed, watching what he was doing.

I kissed my daughter's forehead before I stood up. I was about to go out when he suddenly spoke.

"Maureen.." he called my name.

"What?" I looked back. "Dito na lang muna si Venice, ah? Ayoko kasing gisingin dahil baka-"

"I'm leaving."

My jaw dropped.

I went closer to him to give us a privacy. Parang nabingi ako sa narinig ko. He would actually leave us here?

"You're what?" I blinked twice.

"I'm leaving," he repeated. His eyes shined when it reflected on the light, a sign that he was about to cry. "I don't want to.. but I need to."
