Chapter thirty one

Percy

Me, Reyna, Annabeth, and Nico walked into the hospital. I'm scared, to say the least. For Leo, and for Nico. You see, this is the same hospital Nico was in a month back. What happens if we run into Dr. Solace?

I know that Nico can hold his own, but I don't see how this could get worse. Only two of us can go see Leo at a time, and the girls don't know about Solace so they won't understand what's happening. If I don't go in with Nico, then Mr. Flirty will be flirting up Nico and I won't even be there to help.

Despite all my worrying, I was super excited to see Leo. I had to find out when he was getting out of the hospital, we needed to go home soon. And I mean, soon. The baby was do about a four weeks from now, and we needed to be there at least two weeks before it was born.

So the four of us sat in a waiting room, waiting for the doctor to come and tell us we could see him. Not to my surprise, Dr. Flirty came out of Leo's room. I suddenly felt a wave of fear for Leo. What if Solace is abusing Leo just like he did to Nico? What if as soon as he sees Nico he starts flirting again? What if He was abusing Leo but Leo doesn't tell us out of fear?! What if my head explodes and I can't protect- wait....That's not even possible. Calm down, everything will be okay.

Truth is, I was wrong. Everything would not be okay. As Solace made his way toward us Nico looked at me nervously and I grabbed his hand in mine, trying to calm him though I was a nervous wreck myself. I saw Solace's eyes flit from me, to Nico, and back again. A smile played across his lips and inwardly sighed.

"So, Nico, your back already?" Solace said eyebrows raised. "I am only here to see Leo." Nico said threw gritted teeth, meting Solace in the eyes with a challenging glare."Sure you are." Solace said with a wink. Nico groweled and said "Don't try anything or I'll be out of here before the first pick up line."

"Ah, so you don't want to see your friend?" Solace said smirking. "I'd rather see him and have to deal with you then not see him. But, I'd rather see him later and not see what you've done to him then see him now and have to look at you."

Annabeth flashed me a look of concern, but I just gave the kind of 'tell you later' look. She nodded but still looked worried. I can't blame her, I would be - and am - worried as well. Solace was about to respond when Reyna stood up with an aura of athurity and said "We will be seeing Leo now. Thank you, doctor." There was a note of sarcasum in her last sentence, but I'm not sure Solace caught it.

"Very well. Two at a time please, two at a time." Reyna quickly grabbed Annabeth's hand and they entered the room. I knew she was doing it to ensure I was with Nico, but she before the door closed she looked at me like she was trying to say 'You've got some serious explaing to do' 

I sighed and turned back to Nico. Solace sat down next to him, and Nico visibaly flinched. "So, Nico, you wanna go for walk?" Solace said. "Sure." Nico agreed, much to my dismay. Solace smirked at me and stood up, about to talk to Nico when he said "Perce come on!" 

I was confused until Nico turned to Solace and said "We'll be back in about ten-fifteen minutes. That should be enough time for Reyna and Annabeth to catch up with Leo." Then I couldn't help but smile at the shocked look on Solace's face.

"Well your going to need me to show you around the hospital!" Solace argued, but his voice was still a little shaky with surprise. "No, we'll be fine. We'll walk around the block, this hospital is offal stuffy anyway." I said walking up and swinging my arm around Nico shoulder.
