Chapter thirty eight

Percy

I walked over to the window after talking with Bianca and Nico. I unlocked it, and opened it, and what I saw made me scream a bit. No, it wasn't scary, but what on earth was she doing here?!

"Fucking hell! What are you doing ?!" I yelled.

But then I screamed again, out of fear. It's a great thing I have good reflexes, or she would be dead right now. I reached out and grabbed the latter, pulling it back to the window as it had just fallen off. Typical, she forgot to secure it. She can be forgetful.

"What the hell?!" I screamed again, at her laziness. She could of just died!

But no response came, she simple chucked her backpack into threw the window, and I offered her a hand as she climbed threw herself.

She was dressed in all black, her skinny jeans where black, her backpack was black, and her hoodie was black. So when she took her hood off, I think it surprised Nico and Bianca.

"Echo...?" I heard Nico murmur.

But it was not Echo. No, Echo had much softer features, and lighter hair, and her eyes where quite different. This girl, she had a very tight jaw, and a rather... Regal nose, I guess you would say. Also, her hair, witch was significantly darken then Echo's, was pulled up in a side braid.

"What the hell, Reyna? What are you doing here?" I said as Reyna sunk onto the floor below the window, taking care to making sure no part of her could be seen from the window.

"I... I heard you could help." Was all she said, looking down.

Confused and a little nervous, I kneeled down next to her. "Help... Help with what, Rey? What happened?" She just shook her head, smiling sadly. "Reyna..." I warned. You don't just jump threw someone's window in the middle of the night, ask them for help, then ignore them when they ask why you need help.

"Can I... Can I just crash here?"

"What, for the the night?"

"No..."

"For how long?"

"I don't know!" She said, and flung her head in her hands, crying. Crap, I've never really seen Reyna cry before. Something must of happened. She's tough, I hear most of her family is dead, something serious must of happened. I hugged her, she seemed a little confused, but eventually hugged back.

"Reyna, what's going on? If you just needed a place to stay, why didn't you wait till dawn? Why did you come in the dead of night, dressed in all black, and climb threw my window?" I said, still hugging her.

"I-I... I just um, I needed to get out of where I was." She said, more tears on here face.

"Okay, well why didn't you call me?" I said.

"Because... Because they'd... They'd track me." I sat up instantly when she said that.

I walked over, closed and locked the window, drew the curtains, and shut the door. Then turned around, and very seriously said "Reyna, are you running from the police?" It wouldn't surprise me a bit if own of my friends broke the law, I just always thought it would be Annabeth.

But then, she let out a cold, dry laugh. Finally, she looked up at me, and said "No, no, it's nothing with the police. I just heard, I heard you helped."

"Helped with what?"

"Helped, you know, helped."

"No, I don't know."
