Chapter forty

Nico

It has been a while since Reyna left, everyone seems to be as okay as you could expect. Bianca's acting kinda weird, but I don't have the heart to ask her about it. If she needs me, she'll let me know. She can  be very blunt and forward when she needs to be.

Annabeth, Leo, and Percy of course are sad. But at least they have each other, and, of course, Annabeth always has Thalia. And I can be there for Percy whenever he needs it, it's the least I can do after he's everything he's done for me.

But Leo... Leo doesn't seem to have anybody. And everybody needs somebody. I want to help him but I just can't help him. I don't think he wants me to help him. How do you help someone who so violently doesn't want to be helped? 

So today everyones kinda mopey. Me and Perce are just snuggling on the couch, I think he's asleep. And I'm pretty sure Annabeth and Thalia went out for ice cream. I haven't heard from Leo though. He's a mystery, that boy. Maybe Percy knows where he is.

"Hey, Perce." I said. I was laying on his chest with my arms around him and he was lying on his back on the couch, probably asleep. "Percy." I said again, no response. I lifted my head a little, and shook him, saying for the third time "Percy"

"Wha. No, five more minuets." Percy said and rolled over almost knocking me onto the floor. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Perce come on get up." I said, sitting up on his legs and shaking him again.

"No mom school doesn't star for another hour fifty five minuets..." He said and started mumbling. I laughed again, he was so cute when he slept.

"Percy," I said, quieter this time. Then I kissed him, not to be all Disney, but I just wanted to startle him maybe wake him out of his deep sleep.

Or maybe it wasn't quite as deep as I thought. Because as soon as I started to pull away, he lifted his arm and draped it over my neck, pulling me back down. I let out a little laugh of surprise and he muttered "Mine." just before out lips touched.

We stayed like that for a while, just wrapped up in out own little world. It felt like there was nothing else to worry about, I couldn't even remember why I woke him up if not just for this wonderful moment. Complete bliss, not a worry in the world. Just me and Percy, our lips dancing across each others, we where the only things that mattered. I reached my hand up his shirt and he started to kiss my neck, and oh, the bliss.

But then he pulled away, and it all came crashing back. Reyna running away, Bianca's weird behavior, Leo being out of touch and unwilling to be helped. All of it. 

"Morning, Nico." Percy's voice was sleepy and deep, but cute and kinda hot all the same.

"Percy, it's four in the afternoon." I said, smiling.

"Ah well, I try." Percy said, laughing. And then he sat up as well, forcing be back onto his lap. "So what's the hurry to get me up? You wanna have some before-dinner sex?" Percy said, still laughing. I felt my cheeks darken, and I laughed as well.

"Yeah, you wish." I said, still laughing, and pushed his shoulder lightly. "But no, although that sounds great, that's not why I got you up, it's-"

"You wanna go to the library after it closes and have kinky library sex?" Percy said, and I couldn't help but just stair at him as a lopsided grin spread across that stupid face of his.

"No! Why would you even suggest that?" I said. I just stared at him blankly as his grin grew and he shrugged.

"Meh, just a dream I had." He said, then laughed at the expression on my face which must have mirrored the way I felt: Confused, weirded out, and trying to figure out if he was being sarcastic or not.  "So what did you really want?" He said.

"Wait let me get this straight. You had a dream, where we snuck into a library after it closed, then had sex in the library?" I said, staring at him, dumbfounded.

"Hey now, don't get to high and mighty there Nico. I never said the dream was about you!" Percy said, laughing and smiling. 

"You better not be dreaming about other men, Percy, or I might just have to dump you." I said, with mock seriousness.

"Dude your jumping to conclusions, okay. I never even said it was with a guy!" Percy said, laughing really hard now, he was rocking back and forth. It wasn't really that funny to be honest... But Percy laughing made me laugh to, and pretty soon we where both just laughing.

Eventually, once we both calmed down, Percy spoke again "But, seriously, did you really want something or did you just miss me and my beautiful face?"

I smiled and said, "Mh, both. But it was you and your beautiful lips more then your face." I said, smirking, and pecking him on the lips. Then remembering Leo, I said "But, have you seen Leo? I haven't heard from him, and I was starting to get worried... You know he's not taking this whole Reyna thing to well..."

Percy just smiled and hugged me, resting his chin on my shoulder, I hugged him back wrapping my arms around his torso and snuggling into his chest. "Nico, Leo's fine. He texted me earlier that he was going out with Thalia, Annabeth, and some guy he met named Jason. I don't thin he's taking this worse then any of the rest of us," Percy said, then pulled away from the hug slightly so he could look me in the eyes, then, very seriously, he said, "It's not Leo I'm worried about Nico, it's you." 

"What do you mean? Percy, there's nothing... I mean, what're you- what're you talking about?" I said, staring at him. Me? Why would he be worried about me? I'm fine. There's nothing wrong... Everything's been perfect... I wasn't even all that close to Reyna, so why would Percy be worried about me of all people?

"Nico, your such a caring loving person, and your always so worried about other people. But, you never worry about yourself. Whenever something happens, you always stress about how it's affecting everyone else, but have you stopped once, just once, to think about how it's affecting you?" Percy said, looking very serious.

"No, Percy, I haven't been thinking about me this whole time. You guys where really close with Reyna, I just recently learned her last name. This isn't about me Percy, so why would I think about it that way? This isn't affecting me, at all." I said speaking the last two words louder then I probably should have.

"I'm not talking about only this scenario, Nico. Your so pleased by everything lately. Everything that goes wrong you ask everyone else if they're okay. But, sweaty, I want you stop, and ask yourself if your okay." Percy said, standing up and starting to walk up stairs.

"I'm fine!" I yelled at him as he walked up the stairs. He stopped, turned to look at me, with something close to sympathy on his face. Then he said,

"Just keep telling yourself that." And turned and walked the rest of the way up the stairs.
