Chapter thirty six

Percy

So. Bianca confided in my last night that she was not as happy as she might seem. While she was telling me, there was this, like, glazed over look in her eyes and she kept laughing coldly or smiling sadly. Not that I'm not used to it though, I mean, I am best friends with Leo Annabeth and Reyna.

Leo confided in us that his happiness was a mask a few years back, there's nothing we can do about it. He is not happy, and we can help, but it has to be subtle. We can't go tell him "Being depressed is bad, smile for a while!" because then he'll think 'oh, I'm depressed an that's bad. I'll just smile, then they won't think I'm bad.'. But rather, we can make him laugh -really laugh- and have fun.

Annabeth hasn't really talked to much since her dad remarried, but we make her smile. And Reyna... Oh dear, dear Reyna. I don't know what happened to her, but it was something bad. Something that someone else did, on accident. Something she's still trying to forgive them for. Something that will never be forgotten.

We all have those things, those things that you have to really try to forgive, and those ones you know you can never forget. I don't know what happened, but it had something to do with her older sister, her parents, and the spa that they ran.

So all my friends are really not that happy. Unless they're around me, of course. I just bring out the best in everyone! I make everyone smile and laugh and be themselves! Everyone has a great time and my house! But no one ever asks me how I'm doing.

In truth, I'm all right. But I do miss my dad. Mom says he was a great man, I never met him. People say you can't miss something you never had, right? Wrong. Since I never had a father, it just makes me want one more. I'm jealous of everyone else. But still, it's not that bad.

But, these are things of the past, and possible future. But, right now, in the present, we are on our way to school. And it's gonna be totally awesome.

Right now we're in Rey Rey's car, driving up to school. Annie isn't reading, because we want to scare people. Rey, well, she's Reyna and she's wearing a leather jacket, that's pretty scary. Leo is really not scary, he's like very cuddly and emotional lately. Nico is just Nico, no need to make him look more scary. And I'm Percy fucking Jackson, what more could you ask for?

So as we pull into the parking lot, I see we're five minuets late. Perfect. They should be in class now, no one knowing of our arrival. If this goes as planned, everyone should be knowing we're here by lunch.

We had told our friends and only our friends about us being back. It was now lunch, and everyone was in the cafeteria. We all stood outside the door, waiting, until we heard a voice say "We would like to welcome back some of our students. Let's see... We have-"

"Now." I whispered and they all nodded. Just before the principle could give our names, we walked threw the door. "I'm back bitches." I said. And indeed, every eye on the school seemed to be on us.

I was standing in the doorway, with Annabeth behind me to my left and Reyna behind me to my right, then Nico behind Annabeth and Leo behind Reyna. It was epic.

I scanned the room and saw our usual table, but it had someone sitting at it. Ignoring the person, I walked over and sat at my usual chair. Pulling out my lunch which smelled like fish...
