Chapter Thirteen

"And what in the world she's thinking about summoning me back in the HQ?" Inis naman na tanong ni Jaypee nang makababa ito mula sa hagdan.

Napahinto naman ito sa paglalakad at saka tumingin kay Syrel.

"Did they knew what we did last night?" He asked.

"We both know that it is our own plan and I can assure you that I didn't tell anyone." Syrel answered.

My forehead furrowed at pareho naman kaming tumingin sa smartwatch na suot namin.

"I think that's the answer." Syrel commented, pertaining to the smartwatch that Harley designed and developed exclusively for the members of Falcon's Army.

Jaypee sighed at saka ipinagpatuloy ang paglalakad papunta sa garden.

"Is she awake?" He asked.

"Yup, she's at the garden but she didn't ask for any company." Syrel answered.

Sumilip naman si Jaypee mula sa siwang ng sliding door and from her place, he can see Hestia's sitting figure while reading a book and sipping from a tea.

"How did you manage to get all the journals while she's in her room?" Jaypee asked.

"She's dead asleep and you know me, I am light as a feather." Ani naman ni Syrel and that made Jaypee roll his eyes.

"Did you do anything besides that?"

"Did I what?"

"You know what I am talking about Syrel." Jaypee said and looked at him. "I swear to Gemma's coffee if you did something I will make sure to make you suffer, tenfold." Banta naman nito sa lalaki.

"Woo! Chill man! I know that Miss Hestia is beautiful and I will not do such thing kung ano man ang nasa isip mo." Ani naman ng binata. "I mean, yeah, I am still interested on pursuing her pero mukhang imposible na yon dahil nandyan ka kaya--"

"Hestia and I are not courting." Pagputol naman ni Jaypee sa sasabihin ni Syrel.

"And the pigs can fly." Syrel said while shaking his head.

Hindi naman sumagot si Jaypee at umayos ng tayo sa kabilang gilid ng sliding door.

"You swore on Gemma's coffee."

"We both know that her coffee is the first thing she will save if the headquarters is on fire." Jaypee answered.

Nagkatinginan naman ang dalawa and they both laugh lightly because they both knew that is true.

"Still no response?" Tanong naman ni Gemma kay Harley nang maupo ito sa bakanteng upuan na nasa tabi niya.

"Nope, but they didn't leave the mansion's vicinity." Harley answered and that made Gemma sigh kaya naman napalingon sa kanya ang dalaga. "Still thinking about it?" She asked softly.

Gemma didn't meet her gaze but she answered by just nodding.

"Gemma, it is not your fault--"

"It is Harley, I am the one who is responsible for recruiting new soldiers...their death is my responsibility." Pagputol naman ni Gemma sa kaibigan nito.

Harley placed her hand on her shoulder, trying to ease the tension in her.

A few days ago, the headquarters received news from a soldier who is assigned to drive the new recruits to the training area.
