Chapter Eighteen

Jaypee looked at Hestia while she's playing with the rabbits in the farm, he decided to take her there so that she can be distracted while thinking the ways on how he will going to break the news to her.

"So, totoo nga ang chismis na nakauwi na ang pulis na anak ni Aling Madelyn." Napalingon naman ang binata sa nagsalita and a small smile crept into his lips ng makita kung sino iyon.

Amber, his childhood best friend.

"Amber, nice to see you." He greeted.

"Kamusta na? hindi ka man lang nagsabi na uuwi ka na."

"Biglaan lang din."

"Fair enough." Amber answered then shrugged her shoulders. "So, gaano ka naman katagal dito?"

"Kakadating ko lang gusto mo na ako paalisin?"

"I am just asking."

"Well..." Jaypee trailed off and glanced at Hestia who's still playing with the rabbits. "I don't know, time will tell." He answered.

Amber also looked at Hestia and a smile found her lips.

"Wife?"

"Nope."

"Fiancee?"

"Nah."

"Girlfriend?"

"No."

"Then who is she?"

"Why does everyone in this town wants to know her!?" Inis na tanong naman ni Jaypee nang maalala na ganoon din ang tinanong ng tindera sa tindahan kung saan siya bumili ng kape kanina.

"Because she is a new face tapos kasama mo pa na umuwi."

"And so? Why they are making a big deal about me and her?"

"Kase pulis ka?"

"Dating pulis." Pagtatama naman ni Jaypee sa dalaga. "Pinagsisisihan ko na tuloy na umuwi dito." he mumbled at nakatanggap naman ito ng hampas sa braso mula sa dalaga.

"Baliw." Natatawang turan naman ng dalaga sa kanya.

"But seriously, why is everyone making a fuss when I came here?" He asked and crossed his arms.

"Well, since hindi pa alam ng mga chismosa dito na wala ka na sa serbisyo. They are trying to you know, make their daughters flirt you. You complete the picture." Amber explained.

"Pathetic." Jaypee mumbled then rolled his eyes.

"Right." she commented. "I want to meet her by the way."

"No, stay away from her."

"Hey! You are acting like I'm a bad influence."

"Because you are."

"Hindi mo lang matanggap na talo kita pagdating sa inuman." Amber grumbled.

"Sigurado ka bang professor ka?"

"Oo sigurado ako, ikaw ba? Sigurado ka bang kaibigan mo lang siya?"

"Hey--"

"Uhm...Jonathan?" Pareho namang napalingon ang magkaibigan kay Hestia.

"Hey, nakapili ka na ba ng gusto mong rabbit?" Jaypee asked softly and that shocked Amber who's beside him.

Because to be honest, that is the first time that she heard her friend talk like that.
