Dillion Scott || Trusting Strangers

"How are they?" I asked, thanking Josiah as he handed me a pair of shorts as I arrived at the steps of the Flanders pack house, where Ben and a few others were waiting. Thankfully there were only minor injuries for a few men, that should be healed in a few hours. My hand probably would be the worst out of all the injuries.

"They arrived safely at Flanders pack house, they are getting looked over my the pack doctor now. Good job Alpha" Ben answered giving a small wink at the end, I rolled my eyes at the title.  I'm not in the sallow pack officially let alone bare Elias's mark as I haven't been close enough for death to get it. I haven't even been introduced to the pack in general, I'm still the mysterious guest that pisses their alpha off and somehow manages to keep my head attached to my shoulders.

Ryker was still knocked out as he got dragged to the pack's holding cells, Josiah gave my shoulder a pat before walking off to over see where Ryker will be held since its his prisoner this road trip. Tomorrow morning we plan on making the journey back home. "You fought well out there, did something that your mate hasn't been able to achieve in over ten years" Ben commented, turning his attention back on to me, I shook my head.

"Elias always had the power to take him down. If Ryker wasn't his brother, I think he'd be dead along time ago." I said truthy. I don't think Elias will have the heart to kill his brother, no mater the crime that he has committed, I have a feeling Elias is just going to return the favour. Killing him would be to kind on Ryker.

I walked into the Pack house greeting Alpha and Luna Flanders, thanking them both for their help with everything before walking into the medical ward where a nurse tended to me almost instantly. Once my hand was bandaged up, I walked to Alice and Geoffrey who were enjoying their first hot meal in what I assume would be a very long time. "How are you guys?" I asked softly, sitting in one of the chairs opposite of them.

"Overwhelmed" Alice answered sipping at her soup, they both had an IV line connected with fluids to give their immune system and wolves a boost. I can imagine that this all would be quite overwhelming, having not seen a friendly face or outside for over a decade. All of this would be quite a shock to the system. "We can't thank you enough for all this, for saving our boy." Alice continued tears filing her eyes once again.

"It was long over due. Had your pack known earlier that you were still alive, I'm certain they would of come for you then." I said. If Elias had of known a few years back of Ryker's plans, Id assume we'd be having a very different conversation. Though I'm glad they are alive and I'm able to meet them, I do wish I could of met them under better circumstances.

Geoffrey gave a look of disbelief, which I assume would be my statement that the pack would of come for them earlier on. Though I can sort of see how the fabricated lie would work, it still had major flaws that don't add up on how Keenan was behind certain things. They knew he was new to the supernatural world. They were there for his first shift. They welcomed into the pack, but I guess being fed lies for over a decade you'd start to forget rationality and start to believe them. "I was talking to Jack a few days ago, he mentioned something Ryker told him, and I bet him my bottom dollar, with confidence, that many of the things Ryker had told you, and/or led you to believe are fabricated lies." I said as my phone buzzed in my pocket.

"You're a stranger to us. Yes you have saved us from that place, but how can we trust you that we are not headed for something worse? How can we trust your word over Ryker's?" Geoffrey said his eyes narrowing defensively

"You can't. Nor do I expect you trust me. Trust come's with time and reassuring actions. My word means nothing to you right now, I know that, but I hope that one day that will change. I hope that today is the day where you start to re-learn how to love and trust others again, to live life with out fear, to rediscover happiness." I said honestly.

"The Sallow pack, it still remains you know. When your pack were led to believe that you had died in the fire, they mourned for a long time, some still do" I said, fishing my phone out of my pocket as it once again buzzed. I smiled down at the screen, which was a photo from Keenan which showed Willow and Jack curled up asleep on either side of Addison who smiled softly at the camera. "My sisters had come over to keep Jack company" I said softly turning my screen to them so they could see the photo. Though Geoffrey tried to stop it, his defensive exterior crumbled slightly at the sight. "My sisters love Disney and treated Jack to a movie marathon of their favorited movies. " I explained. "Depending on how we travel tomorrow, you'll be able to join them for the next one" I said, texting Keenan back.

The next thing that came through was a video that we filmed before we left as Jack liked the idea that he could talk to his parents with out seeing them. "Hi mum and dad" Jack's soft voice said, Willow who stood beside him urged to to speak louder. "Hi Mum and Dad" Jack repeated louder this time glancing at Willow who smiled widely at him giving him a thumbs up. "Well I'm home, our real home. The place you talked about. I'm here! I haven't seen a lot of it cause I'm still working on trusting people and there is a lot of people to trust here." He said, soft laughter coming from off screen, Jack's eyes wondered upwards his cheeks flushing red at the attention.

"This is Dillion" He introduced as he walked over to me, leaning into my side. "But you now would know that" Jack murmured to himself. I grinned ruffing up his curly mop that was just styled by Addison moments prior. he pouted looking up at me but couldn't hold back the giggle. "This is Josiah, Dillions brother." Jack said pointing past me to Josiah who stood beside me.

"Oh and this is Keenan!" He said excitedly walking over to darker skinned man who chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck, flashing the camera a small smile. "But don't worry dad, he is nothing like what Ryker described" Jack said, smiling widely up at Keenan " He's not even Alpha, he's just the Beta and he's nice!" Jack exclaimed, receiving a laugh from everyone including Keenan who shook his head. "Dillion is technically the alpha" Jack mumbled which I didn't notice he said when we were filming. "Oh we have a big surprise when you come home! I wanted to tell you on  this thing but Dillion said to wait." Jack said with a shrug. "See you soon, love you both!" Jack said giving a wave as the video cuts off.

Alice had tears streaming down her face, her hand gripping her mates tightly. Geoffrey's face had softened dramatically, as the video replayed for a second time. "Our baby, he's -he looks so-" Alice mumbled seemingly not finding to the words. Jack has definitely come out of his shell the past few days.

We talked a little more before I bided them goodnight, we were hoping to be on the road early. Myself, Josiah and ben will be traveling with them in a separate car, for their comfort. The busses leave at 6am and will drive straight only stopping for a few pee and snack breaks. I hope to be on the road by eight and hopefully stop at a few places along the way so that they can stretch their legs. It would also give them time to process and relax a little before the excitement and overwhelming feelings that will come with being home with their two sons, one of which I still have to tell them about.

The next morning, I was up bright and early to see off the busses, and to make sure that Ryker's ride back to his roots are as uncomfortable and secure as possible.  Alice and Geoffrey were up not long after the busses left. after a night sleep in a comfortable bed they looked a lot more relaxed and the video of Jack looking so happy seemed to eased Geoffrey's concerns that we would only treat him to worse. "You have them?" Elias voice said as I picked up my mobile, I chuckle, glancing over the table at his parents who were currently eating breakfast.

"Good morning. I'm fine, just a few scratches and a crushed hand. Thanks for asking- oh is  it painful? no its mostly healed now, your concern for me is truly heart warming" I replied sarcastically, receiving a laugh from Keenan, which means I'm on speaker. "But yes, Alice and Geoffrey are currently enjoying their breakfast. We plan on hitting the road as soon as they are ready and comfortable" I answered, smacking my brothers hand away from my plate as he attempted to steal a sausage.  "Finally met Ryker, don't think he likes me very much,  Which I'm starting to take this whole hate dillion thing, personally. Like seriously, challenge the alpha publicly like two times and I'm suddenly the bad guy."
