Dillion Scott || Satisfactory SatisfactionBy the time the sun went down, the swelling in my face and other parts of my body had gone down dramatically, so I could at least talk and use my eyes again which I was thankful for. It also cements the fact that my sicknesses ever since the red moon festival were directly linked with the separation between me and Elias. My wolf definitely doesn't like distance, being away from his other half for prolonged periods of time doesn't work, which I'm sure is going to throw a spanner in what I'm guessing was Elias's plans to live separate lives.
Elias kept his lips sealed when he was inside my room, which has been converted slightly to accommodate some medical supplies that I needed. The medical ward in our pack isn't equipped for long term stays as most cases that go through the medical ward, stay for a few days maximum, after that the patient is generally fit enough to go home.
The silence between us was deafening, I was at a loss for words to say and he didn't attempt a conversation either so we kept quiet. Most mates if they meet there would be an endless amount of subjects you could talk about, specially if your mate is a stranger. But for us (or me at least) it's awkward to a point, cause when we first met he wanted nothing with me and right now he's forced to some degree to be here with me.
When my wolf surged forward, it was slightly painful and a weird halfway limo faze between my humans and my wolf. Both sides were way to weak to be able to shift, so doc gave me an adrenaline shot which gave me enough energy to faze back properly.
By the second day I was more or less healed of any injury's my body coursed itself, I just had very little energy to do anything, small things like going to the toilet felt like I was running a marathon. Elias came into the room in the morning after breakfast, he stayed silent, getting comfortable in the chair that was placed, keeping himself busy with his laptop. He stayed for an hour or two before exiting quietly and returning in the afternoon for an hour or two.
I was asleep for most of the time or just didn't pay attention to him. I hated the awkwardness between us. We were complete strangers and soul mates, you'd think there would be an easy flow of conversation between us. Apparently not, though what is there to talk about considering he doesn't exactly want a mate, and I've gotten the impression from what my family have said, that Elias isn't exactly the talkative type.
"Why save me if you hate me?" The words came out of my mouth before I could stop them, the question itself was just a stupid thought going around my head, it wasn't exactly logical. I don't think he hates me cause I haven't given him a reason to.
"Hate is a strong emotion." A reasonably deep but very smooth voice said which for some reason surprised me slightly, though I don't know what I was expecting his voice to sound like. "Getting yourself almost killed protecting your family, isn't particularly high on the list of actions that would elicit that emotion from me." Elias deadpanned, I let a chuckle past my lips, pushing my self up to a sitting position. "As for saving you, why wouldn't I? No one in that position deserves to die. My wolf also knew you were my mate, so I had little to no control over my actions." He said simply looking up from his computer.
"Why don't you want anything to do with me?" I asked a more logical question, since my last one just an irrational thought that slipped through.
"People in my life get hurt. The less people in my life the less people get hurt." He stated his eyes averting from me back to his computer. The answer sounded a little bit of a cop-out if I'm being honest. People get hurt, that's sort of a part of life. In the werewolf community it's a very common occurrence, people get injured all the time, whether that be physical or mental. There are wars and battle between packs, that's just life.
