Dillion Scott || Broken DoorsI found Elias easily enough, he was clawing at a tree angrily, which I'm guessing is to let off some steam. I watched for a moment, admiring his wolf before deciding to save the innocent tree. I know I'm probably pushing my boundaries but I trust him not to hurt me, considering the only times he has attacked was in times where he thought I was in danger, which is nice to know that he somewhat cares.
I shifted out of sight, putting on my spare clothes before walking back to the growling wolf, gaining his attention by the crackling of twigs and leaves as I walked. "Run and see what happens" I said warningly, throwing the spare sweat pants to Elias's wolf so he could change. "We need to talk" I stated simply, crossing my arms over my chest.
The black wolf studied me, tiling his head sideward slightly for a moment before shaking his head, a small snort coming out of his snout. Picking up the sweats from the floor and walking away to shift. I waited for a moment, wondering if he is actually coming back to talk to me or if he made a run for it.
I sighed shaking my head in slight disappointment when a few minutes passed and he didn't reappear. Shifting and putting on joggers would take a minute at most of his time. This is not going to be a fun life for either of us if he walks away from a simple conversation with me. Not being in a relationship is one thing but I figured we could at least have the bare minimum of a simple conversation. My head snapped up when I heard footsteps, though my hope for Elias stepping up was quickly stamped down and Kenan appeared. "He can't even be arsed to have a fucking conversation." I scoffed, annoyance flaring. Kenan looked apologetically
"He's in his room." Keenan said simply holding out a key, making me raise an eyebrow, "If you want something from Elias you gotta fight tooth and nail for it. Be persistent as I know you are and keep at him. If you want to have a conversation then make him talk. Elias will push you away at every turn, you either let it happen or push back. You got the mate bond on your side, he will cave in at one point." Keenan said handing me the key, which I assume is for Elias's room.
I thanked him for the advise. We walked back to the Pack house, there was still a small crowd gathered, curious as to what happened and considering Elias walked away unharmed, I guessed they assume that I was in a worse state. I know I've confused people on why I'm here and why I seem to challenge their Alpha with no real consequence.
I headed straight to Elias's apartment in the pack house, with a little bit more motivation to continue trying to knock down a few walls, I'm assuming I have to use some brute force to get though the outer walls before using a bit more calculated approach when dealing with the inner workings of Elias.
"You are really starting to piss me off" I stated, having made my grand entrance by slamming the door closed behind me. Elias smashed the glass he was holding in slight shock of my arrival, his head snapping to mine, a glare darkening his expression. "When I said we need to talk, it wasn't optional. So if you'd please stop being an asshole for five minute, that would be much apricated" I snapped. I could smell blood from where the smashed glass had tore up his skin, I dismissed the urge to help him, not that he would accept my help anyway.
"What is your obsession with attacking your pack members for no reason?" I asked, if we can get to the bottom of that then I can hopefully prevent anyone one else getting attacked. I know part of it is a protective thing, probably put on by his wolf, but he should be able to control the urges. Elias just shrugged his shoulders as a response, his attention on his bloody hand.
I sighed, grabbing the cordless stick vacuum that was charging on the wall, before turning it on and walking to the kitchen, clearing all the small shards of glass from the floor. Elias pulled a first aid kit from somewhere in the kitchen. I watched him struggle slightly since he could only use one hand before stepping in, grabbing the half opened first aid kit from him. "How did you get in?" Elias asked, as if he just realized that I would need a key of some sort to get in, which he didn't give me.
Deciding to be a slight smart ass, I stayed silent giving a shrug as I disinfected the tweezers. Elias scoffed quietly. Grabbing his injured hand by the wrist, which he pulled back immediately as if I burnt him. I sighed glancing up at him with an annoyed expression, I'm going to start giving this man reasons not to like me if he keeps this up.
"What's wrong? Big bad wolf cant handle a little sting? " I asked sarcastically, receiving a glare in response. "All this time I thought you were big and tough." I quipped with a small smirk. Elias's glare deepened but held out his injured hand, allowing me to clean the wounds so they could heal properly.
"First time I saw you, you were getting ripped apart." Elias spoke quietly, his attention shifting to something behind me when I looked up at him. "My wolf is a little overprotective at times." Elias said, his eyes flickering to meet my gaze for a quick second, pulling his hand away, this time gently. Most of the open wounds were already healed, only a few of the deeper cuts remaining, though they will heal in the next few minutes.
"An agitated wolf for what ever reason is something you should be able to control. As much as I'm flattered that at least one part of you is protective of me. You attacked an innocent pack member Elias, you could of killed him." I said, I hope that Joel is okay, I will have to see him afterwards. Usually wounds that are inflicted by you alpha tend to be more painful and heal at a slower rate. Werewolves would of been found out along time ago if we didn't learn to handle our emotions.
"All that your pack knows right now is that you attacked someone for no apparent reason, I defended them which means I challenged your authority and Keenan allowed to happen." I stated, if we were a known couple it wouldn't be as bad. An Alpha mate, family or a beta in select circumstances would be only people who could challenge an alpha's decision like I did and it not be questioned. Unfortunately no one knows about my 'rank' or bond with Elias so this would of raised a few eyebrows, as I am a guest that has only been around for a over a week and their wasn't any consequences.
"It wont happen again" Elias muttered side stepping me to grab a new glass, glancing between me and the kitchen sink a few times before opting to put the glass back and grab a beer from the fridge. I rolled my eyes walking out of the kitchen to aid him in his mission to keep a distance between us.
"Are you this stand off-ish to everyone or am I just special?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, though I already knew the answer. Elias doesn't really talk to other people unless he has to or its strictly business. Keenan would probably be the only one who Elias talks to as a friend.
"Do you always barge into people's homes with out invite or am I just unluckily?" Elias retorted sarcastically, taking a swig of his beer. I rolled my eyes, deciding to ignore the dig at my self. "How did you get in here?" Elias asked, placing the first aid kit back in one of the cupboards. "Keenan is the only person who has a key" Elias said, realization setting in half way through his sentence, letting out a sigh.
"I know you want nothing to do with me and its all just one big inconvenience for you but unfortunately I have feelings and a life too. Both of which I'm not going to ruin just because you let your enemies control your life" I said, he is going to get a rude awakening if he thinks I'm going to go along with this distant thing. "We are mates and unless you wanna risk changing that status, your stuck with me. All I'm asking from you right now is that you be my friend. To be in the same room without you instantly finding ways to avoid me, to have a conversation with you that isn't one sided and all I get from you is an excuse so you can leave." I said, hoping that anything I say is actually getting through to him. With the silence that followed along with the blank stare, my hope faded.
My eyes rolled on their own accord as I walked away, its to late to really do anything more this visit since I'm going home the day after tomorrow. hopefully over the next few weeks at home I can devise a proper plan and regenerate some motivation to keep pushing.
