Dillion Scott || Reunited
"Be careful Dillion" Julie said her forehead creased with worry as she readjusted the shifter bag straps, she had made me days prior. I nodded my head shaking out my fur. I'm headed back to the cave, I needed to check on Caleb. My decision to go back was met with some resistance, neither Daniel or Julie were to fond of the idea, my heart warmed at there concern for me. I know Caleb did me wrong and we are in no way friends anymore but he also doesn't deserve to die out there. He deserves a fair trial for his crimes, which in all honesty is probably a worse sentence then the cave.
I've been on the farm for a few days now, the power is still down as the weather hasn't been very cooperative for crews to fix the damages. I'm unsure whether my family have received the email since unless we go back to the shop we really don't have any way to communicate with them. If nothing happens in the next few days ill have to find an alternative route home, get one of the buss's to the city and find my way back that way.
I'm just an extra mouth to feed for Daniel and Julie, which is something they don't need right now. I fully intend to help them out financially once I get back home, if they like it or not. They have welcomed me in with open arms even after knowing what I am, they have gone above and beyond for a literal stranger so its the least I could do for them. Hopefully I can help them get the farm back to its former glory. "If you're not back by nightfall I'm coming to get you." Daniel stated ruffing the fur between my ears up slightly.
I shook my head giving a small small yelp before setting off through the now fixed gate, reaching the river and following it up stream for a bit, marking a tree before jumping to the other side of the stream. Since it was mid morning it should be somewhat easy to find, I marked my way so I could find the farm easily on my way back, hopefully I don't run into any wild wolves on my way up.
The cave was relatively easy to find, the closer I got, the stronger Caleb's sent became climbing the rocky embankment I entered the partly lit up cave. Caleb got startled sitting up quickly from his laying position, watching me with a guarded eyes. I scrunched my nose up at the prominent smell of piss and a other things that I rather not think about.
"Over ten years of friendship." I started after a long silence between us, allowing the hurt and betrayal seep into my expression and tone. "I trusted you." I scoffed shaking my head in slight disbelief that its all gone down the drain. Out of all the ways our friendship could of ended, this definitely wasn't what I would of come up with.
"You can still trust me, we can still be friends" Caleb said moving so he was in a kneeling position. I stared at him as if he had grown a second head, for his sake I'm going to blame his questionable logic on the fumes. i noted that the gun had been thrown out of the cage. "I love you Dill, I always have. You know your self that Elias doesn't want you, he wont love you. Not like I can. Not like I do." Caleb stated running a hand through his hair "I can make you happy, just give me another chance" He pleaded.
"Trust you? after you kidnapped me, held me in a cage and tried to kill me? In what world would anyone ever give you another chance after that?" I snapped rolling my eyes at his confession. "You don't love me Caleb, the sooner you realize that the better." I snapped, unzipping my bag and grabbing the water bottle and ham sandwich out, chucking them in to the cage.
Caleb has managed to piss off at least three packs with the stunt he pulled, I know the Longmires won't take this lightly, Nicholas won't be one to let Caleb off easy and Elias I'd assume isn't going to be to happy about it either. What ever the outcome, Caleb isn't going to have a very enjoyable next few months when he arrives home. I just hope the relationship between packs isn't to strained or get damaged when this is all over with. "What about Chelsea?" I asked, Caleb has always talked so highly of his mate and the times we have all hung out they have been absolute love birds.
"What about her? If the chances of me dying were slimmer she would of been gone along time ago." Caleb scoffed out, running a hand through his unkempt hair. I wonder If Chelsea was ever aware of her mate's apparent feeling towards me. Either way it still made no sense to why he has gone through all this trouble. There are ways to figure this stuff out and for reasons beyond me kidnapping and attempted murder was first option in Caleb's mind.
The conversation dried up after that, Caleb scoffed down one half of the sandwich, which was probably a smart move depending on how long I stay at the farm, i wont be back for a few days. My attention went to the entrance as I could sense that we weren't alone, their foot falls were easily heard from the crunching of the snow. After a few moments Caleb seemed to picked up it as well. "Dillion" a familiar voice filled my head. I relaxed knowing it was no threat, to me at least. the same cant be said for Caleb.
"Follow the stench" I replied silently, relief flooded the connection along with a laugh. My head turned to the entrance where Josiah appeared, scrunching his nose at the smell. Look of concern soured as he laid eyes on Caleb, a harsh glare forming. "What took you so long bro?" I asked jokingly with a raised eyebrow as I stood from my seat to walk into Josiah's open arms.
"Well, you weren't exactly top of our priorities list" Josiah retorted slapping my back a few times, each slap getting increasingly harder. I chuckled rolling my eyes as I stepped out of his embrace. "I'm half tempted to leave you here, allow you to rot in your own shit. Unfortunately for you there are a few pissed off Alphas who have other plans" Josiah stated, shooting one last glare before turning his attention back on me.
We left the cave, meeting a group of guards on our way back to the farm, I'm guessing they were going to pick up Caleb. Josiah explained that our disappearance was noted quiet quickly, once they figured out that this wasn't me messing around, the pack grounds were put on lockdown. Chelsea ended up speaking up and telling of Caleb's feelings towards me and where he spent most of his time, which subsequently was where they found the plans. Apart from evidence that Caleb was behind it, other then that there wasn't any real clues as to my whereabouts until the fax from the shop clerk.
Arriving back at the farm, I spotted Nick talking to Daniel and Julie who looked quite flustered as there were a mixture of shifted and unshifted wolves walking around freely. Kara on the other hand seemed to be having the time of her life, bombarding a few guards with questions while she sat happily on a familiar brown wolf's back as if it were a pony, much to her mothers dismay.
Nick greeted me with a tight hug and a slap to the back of the head for messing up his coronation. I grinned "Just keeping you on your toes." I replied with a shrug, and this whole thing technically wasn't my fault either. "At least you got to enjoy the road trip up here, I was tied, gagged and knocked out" I added.
"With sallow as a mate you might want to get use too two of the three" Josiah chimed in with a smirk, earning a glare from nick and a punch to the arm from me. managing to catch my thoughts before they got to creative. I wouldn't put it past Elias to do that to me though at the moment I don't think it would be for sexual purposes.
I turned slightly when I heard low growls and the rattling of chains. Caleb was being led through the yard, silver chains were around his neck, wrists, ankles and waist so couldn't shift, if he did he would choke himself. "You're lucky there is humans around otherwise I would tear you limb from limb" Nick spat venomously, eyes narrowed in a harsh glare.
