"President Kim... I'm sure President Manoban is on his way." Secretary Kang swallowed hard when he met Jennie's eyes. More than twenty minutes had passed since the agreed meeting time at seven in the evening and President Manoban was still nowhere in sight.
If not for President Manoban having another bout of tantrum, refusing to enter the restaurant, Secretary Kang would not have to feel so guilty while looking into Miss Kim's eyes.
"It's okay, I understand." Jennie smiled. It was completely understandable that the legendary CEO of LM Capital would be busy. Jennie was more than willing to wait since the meeting with President Manoban was surprisingly scheduled on the very same day that her secretary had called to request for an appointment. "If you want, you could order some drinks first," Jennie said before calling the waiter. She intended to order some red wine for herself.
"I... No... I am totally fine," Secretary Kang said guiltily while trying his best to keep a straight face. Slowly, he took out his phone and sent a text to his boss. It had already been twenty minutes and President Manoban was still outside.
At this moment, Secretary Kang recalled a story that circulated about President Manoban when they were younger. It was said that the president took a liking to a girl from a private school near the orphanage. However, whenever he tried to confess to the girl, he would faint from being too nervous. In the end, the president never got the chance to confess to the girl before she left the school and was never seen again. Not long after, the president also left the orphanage and worked his way to the top.
This story had been going around for so long that there were many versions about it. Some say that the girl actually died, leaving the president heartbroken. While some say that although the president was good looking, it was a pity he was an orphan with no background which was why the girl never noticed him. It was also said that this girl was the reason why President Manoban strived so hard to become rich. However, that was not the point.
The point was, the young and handsome Lisa would faint in the presence of the girl that he liked.
What if all the stories were true? What if President Manoban had fainted outside?
Secretary Kang then searched his memory and tried to recall if there was any woman who was close to the president before.
No one came to mind.
At a prime age of thirty-one, Lisa Manoban had never once been with a woman! He had never been in a relationship and was never seen in the company of a woman. Could it be because President Manoban hadn't been able to overcome his nerves and successfully confess to a woman that he likes?
'This... This is too unbelievable ah!'
"Is something wrong?" Jennie's words, woke the secretary up from his stupor.
"Oh... No... No... nothing is wrong. I ... um... I was trying to send a text to the president," he answered. Secretary Kang felt as if he had just discovered a big secret about the president! This was just too much, he didn't think that his heart could handle this information.
Jennie only smiled at Secretary Kang. She was about to say something when she noticed the vibration of her phone. She immediately checked her phone to note who the caller was. "Please excuse me. I need to answer this." Jennie immediately got up from her seat and answered the call.
"Jen... where are you? James Arison's mother just arrived at the apartment! She is mad and is looking for you! I need you now! Like RIGHT now!"
"Why would she be mad at me?" Jennie asked. After cancelling the engagement with James Arison, Jennie chose to keep her distance from the Arison family and have no association with them. Though it was quite disrespectful for her to do that, she felt that her actions were reasonable. She knew how manipulating and scheming James Arison's mother was. For Jennie, people like that needed to be avoided like a plague.
