"Won-Young!" the warmth on Chaerin's body quickly left her. Her eyes wide, mouth agape as she stared at her husband. He knew? He knew everything? "Is this because the Lee Family is already gone? Is this the reason why you are treating me this way?" Won-Young had never treated her this way before, however, now... he seemed to have abandoned his own wife just to suck up to Jennie! Though Chaerin already knew this exact thing would happen once Won-Young discovered about Jennie's status, she still found it hard to believe that her own husband would do this so easily as breathing!
"Go and fix yourself." Won-Young ignored Chaerin's question. "Your daughter is at the hospital, she needs you right now."
"Answer me!" Chaerin bellowed, unable to control her emotions. This was the thing that she feared the most! Will Won-Young abandon her and their children now that he is eyeing Jennie's forgiveness? Won-Young wanted to scream, yell at the man who was staring at her with nothing but disgust in his eyes.
The changes that Won-Young exhibited within a few hours just proved how heartless this man is. And yet, here she is... demanding, hoping to get an answer from him.
"You don't deserve it." Won-Young said as he drummed his fingers into the table. "Stop thinking too highly of yourself, Chaerin. You are nothing without the Lee Family and you will be nothing without me. So you better shut up and follow everything that I say, or I can easily replace your son as the CEO and leave you in the streets with nothing."
"You- You are so cruel Won-Young..." Chaerin's voice faltered. She wanted to ask the man if he ever had any affection for her and their children. But the coldness in Won-Young's eyes is already enough to answer her questions. All along, this man had treated her good because of the benefits that he could get from the Lee Family. Now that the Lee Family is gone, Won-Young's warmth towards her also disappeared.
Chaerin was sure that the reason why Won-Young ignored her bullying Jennie and Bec Facci before was because of the fact that they did not have any good background. Then her mind wandered towards Nancy. Was Won-Young treating her good because she had the backing of Kai's family? Was Won-Young really this heartless?
Seeing Won-Young ignoring her presence, Chaerin decided to wipe away her tears and leave the room. Talking to a man like him is akin to begging to a stone, a big and cold stone.
.....
Meanwhile, Nancy's face was still pale as she looked at Kai, her eyebrows were pressed together as a single tear continued to flow on her cheek. The latter also gave her a gentle smile as he squeezed her hand. "It is going to be fine. A caesarean procedure won't last that long and I will be here all throughout the process. You don't have to be nervous."
Nancy bit her lips before she closed her eyes. First she had an early labor and now her child is showing a distressed sign inside her womb. This made the doctor decide to have an emergency C- section to get the baby out as fast as possible.
"Will I die?" she managed to say, in between her slow sobs.
"Of course not." Kai quickly answered as he stroked her head and gave her a kiss on her forehead. "Everything is going to be alright." He whispered before giving her another kiss on the forehead.
After a few minutes the doctor started the procedure as Kai accompanied Nancy inside the operating room. While this was happening, Lina and Zeng were also outside waiting for the result.
"Do you think our grandchild will be fine?" Lina asked. Though her face is still composed, she could not deny the fact that she was very nervous. When she saw that Zeng had a blank expression, Lina asked, "What's wrong?"
"Does Jennie know about the accident?" Zeng asked, his expression grave.
"She doesn't. I can assure you that she cannot trace it back to us." Lina answered.
