Days passed and the news about Zeng and his wife Lina was still trending. After all, this one involved a murder so it was only natural that the masses would demand Zeng's resignation.

"I think it would be best if you resign immediately and go abroad," Kai said calmly as his eyes skimmed the newspaper headlines detailing rallies all over the city demanding that his father step down from his elected position. "Jennie is a very calculating person. If my guess is right, she is just waiting for you to counterattack before she unleashes another evil scheme."

They were currently in Kai's home office discussing how to proceed with Lina's case. Zeng did not respond to his sons words. He sat there with his eyes vacantly glued to the framed photo of Kai's wedding that hung on the wall behind his son.

"I would like to visit Lina at least once but I fear that Jennie would plan another devious attack and frame me," Zeng said, his tone grim. He knew about Jennie's mother's death. This was the reason he wanted to deal with Jennie after her launch party but it seems that she'd anticipated that and she attacked preemptively, not wait for him to make his move.

"I agree with you," Kai nodded. Jennie was devious. That was a fact that he and everyone around him now understood. Kai was sure that she'd calculated and executed all these events for him to watch and learn from. She wanted Kai to feel helpless and useless. It was clear to Kai that Jennie's behavior was a product of what she had been through seven years ago. "I saw the video of mother confessing that she killed Jennie's mother," he stated, causing his father to stare at him.

"I would not be surprised if Jennie asked someone to torture her in prison," he added. Even though he felt angry and sad for his mother, Kai could not do anything about it. Just like his father, he would not risk going to Seoul to fall into Jennie's trap.

Jennie's viciousness had made everyone who'd hurt her before act with extreme caution. They couldn't just do something recklessly and fall into her schemes. Both Kai and Zeng knew this. Even Nancy, who had just given birth, had become paranoid about this.

Nancy had been staying at home ever since she gave birth, however, this did not hinder her from knowing the news about the happenings in both Kim Families. This made her extremely afraid, scared to the point of being unable to sleep peacefully at night. Becoming a mother kickstarted Nancy's maternal instinct to protect her little one. She feared that Jennie would one day come after her and her son.

"You have lost a lot of weight lately," Hongjoong stated as Nancy approached him. The obvious eye bags were a dead giveaway that Nancy had not been sleeping well lately.

"My son wakes up every two hours," Nancy stated. Because of her paranoia, she would not let the nanny feed her son as she was afraid that Jennie would pay someone to poison him.

"Then you should not forget to drink lots of tonics and vitamins. You need some supplements in your body," Hongjoong said before he handed a box to Nancy. "Mother asked me to give this to you. She said these are some imported tonics to help you recover faster."

Nancy accepted the box and gave her brother a polite smile.

"What's wrong with you?" Hongjoong asked when he felt that Nancy wanted to say something to him.

"Well... I...Was it Jennie?"

Hongjoong nodded. This was also the reason why he had come here to visit his sister. Seeing Nancy slowly nodding as she accepted this fact, Hongjoong continued. "I will take care of her. You should focus on healing yourself."

"How will you do that?" Nancy asked. Even Kai told her to be careful and to avoid causing any drama with Jennie as she is a very formidable enemy right now. How could Hongjoong deal with someone like Jennie?
