"What is wrong with her?" Lisa's face was grim. He watched as the doctor busied himself writing Jennie's prescription before answering.
"Miss Kim is fine. But she needs to eat more and sleep more," the doctor said while handing a prescription to Lisa, who then passed it to Irene.
"What about her allergies? Did she faint because of the smell of the lilies?" he asked, feeling angry at himself. Lisa really wanted to slap himself right now. He was so excited about the idea of courting Jennie with flowers that he had actually forgotten how Jennie hated smelling scented stuff.
"The smell could have been the trigger but I think she fainted due to stress," the doctor answered while eyeing the sleeping Jennie on the bed. "From the looks on her eyebags alone, I am confident to say that she had not been sleeping properly for the past few weeks at least. Her immune system is weak to begin with and given her sensitivity to strong fragrances, like the smell of the lilies, it could have caused her to experience headaches and dizziness. The physical stress on the body must have been too much that caused her to faint. "
"Have her eat some vitamins and remind her to eat well," the doctor added before looking at Lisa meaningfully. "Is she your girlfriend, President Manoban?" The doctor had been Lisa's personal doctor for years and this was the first time he had seen Lisa being so worried over a woman. He couldn't help but wonder who this woman was.
"She will soon be my wife." His quick answer surprised both Irene and the doctor.
"Alright, I suggest that you make her eat more. Have someone to cook nutritious food for her. If you have the time, accompany her during her meals." the doctor said with an understanding of the importance of Miss Kim in President Manoban's heart. Lisa nodded in response, bearing the doctor's words in mind. Of course, he was more than willing to cook for Jennie and accompany her for her meals. The doctor left immediately after saying what he needed to say, bidding goodbye to Lisa.
Irene who was also in the room, was looking at Lisa with suspicion. "I'm sorry but you should leave too. President Kim is a very private person. She will not be happy to have a stranger in her room. Especially a stranger who is shamelessly claiming to be her future husband," Irene said while secretly texting Chaeng.
"I am not leaving," Lisa answered.
"You..." Irene tried to compose herself before she continued, "Who do you think you are? And why are you claiming to be our President's future husband? Do you think that your name as President Manoban would intimidate me? Leave this room and don't tarnish the reputation of President Kim," she hissed, unable to control herself. Protecting the president was something that the late Old Madam Facci had ingrained in her to do. As long as she is standing by Jennie's side, she would protect Jennie to the best of her abilities.
"I am not leaving until she wakes up," Lisa insisted before giving Irene a cold glare. "Go and buy the medicine that the doctor had prescribed. Don't worry, I will not hurt her."
Irene did not budge. How could she leave the unconscious president with a man whom she was not familiar with? She crossed her arms while glaring back at Lisa. "If you are not going to leave, I will have to call the police," she threatened while waving her phone at Lisa. Their conversation was suddenly interrupted by Chaeng's arrival.
"What happened?" She ran towards Jennie, her gaze on Jennie's face. "Her allergies should not have been that serious. What did the doctor say?" Chaeng's questioning eyes darted from Lisa and then to Irene. Chaeng was still unaware of Lisa's real identity. She assumed that he was Jennie's security personnel.
Irene quickly explained what had happened to Jennie, including how Lili was actually President Manoban of LM Capital. She also did not hide her dislike towards the man who triggered the president's allergies.
