Instead of giving an answer, Irene, Jennie, and even Seulgi looked at each other before looking at her, their gazes filled with unmasked ridicule.

"I'm sorry Miss Yang, but are you kidding me?" Irene asked. "Your six months worth of salary is just equal to my monthly salary, ah. How are you going to convince me like this?"

Irene instantly froze. Monthly salary? Then she remembered that Jennie's company was from Europe, meaning she would use a different standard for her employee's salary. Lina's neck started to turn red when she realized this fact. Jennie must be laughing at her inwardly for what she said. She eyed Jennie before shifting her gaze towards Irene.

The latter was looking at her like the clown that she'd been. How dare an illegitimate child mock her like this? Lina's ego seemed to explode as she thought about the ridicule that she'd experienced in less than an hour. "Irene..." Lina took a deep breath as she pursed her lips and stared at Irene intently. "Your father is my older brother Yang Sen, who works with the military. He has a lot of enemies who are looking for a weakness that they can exploit. Now I know that you feel secure with Jennie here, but how about your mother and sister?"

Just as Jennie expected, Lina resorted to using Irene's mother and sister to scare her. Good thing that Lisa acted quickly and had already made sure that Irene's mother and sister left Korea and went to Japan where Lisa's network was even greater than the one in Korea. Aside from this, Lisa also arranged for Irene's mother to be treated in Japan.

Now that Jennie thought about it, she also found her husband a bit devious. First, he made sure to secure Irene's mother and sister, but if one were to look at it closely, Lisa's 'kind gesture' would assure that Irene would never betray Jennie. With her mother and sister under Lisa's care, Irene would never do anything that would align with the Yang Family's goals.

It was a bit vicious but Jennie knew that Lisa was just doing this for her, so who was she to complain?

Seeing Irene and everyone fall silent at her words, Lina thought that they were just surprised. "Here is my card. I will give you four hours to think about it. I expect to see you this afternoon at the gates of the Kim Family's estate," she said as she put her calling card on Irene's bed. Her words should be enough to scare Irene. After all, Lina knew how dearly Irene valued her mother. She then turned her back on the trio and started walking towards the door.

"I think Miss Yang got it wrong," Irene said after a few seconds. "I am not coming with you. I am not the person that you are looking for. Leave now."

Lina's steps halted when she heard Irene's words. She then slowly turned her head towards Irene and then on to Jennie, who had a beautiful smirk plastered on her face. It did not take too long for Lina to realize that Jennie must have something to do with Irene's refusal. She narrowed her eyes at Jennie as Jennie raised an eyebrow at her, a silent declaration of challenge issued to Lina. Silence enveloped the whole room as the two continued to stare at each other.

"Good. Very Good," Lina said as she withdrew her gaze and looked at Irene. "Do you think Jennie could protect you from your father's enemies?"

"I do not think. I simply know," Irene answered, unfazed by Lina's domineering personality. How could this simple intimidation scare Irene, who had been working with Jennie for so many years? This... Lina's gesture and actions would be considered mediocre when compared to Jennie's ways!

"Very well," Lina nodded. Since her kind ways did not work, she could easily use force to change Irene's decision. Lina knew that her brother would not forgive her if she couldn't bring Irene to the mansion. Because of this, nothing would stop her from bringing Irene back to the Yang Family's estate, even if it meant kidnapping her mother and sister while pretending to be Yang Sen's enemy. Surely this would be enough to scare Irene into coming with her for protection. "I hope you will not regret this decision," she said before storming out of the room.
