I am the worst person ever! I left my mate again, when he needs me to be there for him. And my best friend. I left him too.
I bet 5 dollars that when I check my phone I will have a dozen texts from Jack. Tyler is going to kill him for letting me ride away.
I see a figure running in the forest beside my bike. I turn my head slightly to see a black wolf. The wolf turns it's head and piercing gold eyes meet mine. I turn my vision back towards the road and speed up some. The wolf matches my speed the whole time.
I smile. He isn't letting me ride alone but following his dad's rules. He is such a goodboy it is funny.
"Why are you following me? I thought you didn't want to come along?" I tease him.
"I didn't want to ride on the bike, I never said I wasn't coming along. I am here for your protection." Tyler says.
I scoff.
"Let's see how fast you can go, baby."
"Alright, my little mate." Tyler says and I know he is smirking.
I lean closer to the bike and speed up. The road is long, straight, and partially empty.
I look at my speedometer and see it climbing from 70 to 80. Then 80 to 90. I look back up and wind around cars. I check the forest quickly and see the black wolf running along side me. I look back forward and see a few cops and a street light. And the light is yellow. I groan and slow down.
"Why'd you stop?" Tyler asks when I sit at the red light.
"Red light. And cops but mainly red light."
I look over to the cops and see them looking at me weirdly. I sit up straighter and eye them. Why the hell are they bugging me? I'm only a girl on a motorcycle.
Wearing shorts, a tank top, and a suspicious backpack. Okay, I would be looking too. I see the light turn green and I turn right, onto another straight road.
Only this one is empty. No cars or people.
I smile to myself and see Tyler jogging beside the road.
"All clear, mate of mine." Tyler tells me.
"Sir yes sir." I say before taking off again.
I look back towards the road and lower myself closer to the bike to make it more aerodynamic.
I look at the speedometer and see it climbing again. 80 to 90. Then 90 to 100. I look up and trees blur past me and the road is dull with a faint yellow stripe in the middle.
I close my eyes for a second to concentrate on the feeling of wind across my body, of the adrenaline pumping through my blood, and how the sound of the motor calms me.
My eyes open and I see a figure standing in the road ahead. I begin to lay on the brakes but the figure runs towards me.
"Tyler!" I yell out mentally.
"On it! Just try to slow down." He says quickly.
I grip my brakes harder to try and make my bike slow down quicker without me flying off. The black wolf leaps onto the road and gets ahead of my bike. The figure slows down some but jumps at us and phases.
I brake suddenly and use my butt to slide the back of the bike to the front so I'm perpendicular to the road. I place my foot out to keep my balance.
Tyler faces the gray wolf, who is snarling and puffed up. Tyler stands protectively in front of me and snarls at the wolf.
They gray wolf seems to back away some when Tyler stalks forward. I would too.
