Skylar pulled out a map from her tack bag.
"So this is home. Jorvik."
I smiled.
"We are taking the ferry to Cape West Fishing Village, near Goldenleaves Stables, where you will be." Skylar told me, "Jorvik is the most wonderful place in the world."
I thought in my head, Stables? Ok. Whatever.
Finally a stretch of land was in the distance. I saw a dock with many fishers and a little village with the cutest little pastel colored cottages. The ferry pulled into the dock.
"One second, I'll be back." I said to my new friend. I walked over to Mary and I thanked her and bid her farewell.
I walked off of the ferry and stood, feeling lost. What if Skylar is gone in the crowd? I'm alone, I thought. I leaned against a wooden post and turned on my phone. At least I thought; it didn't turn on. I asked a nearby fisherman if there were nearby outlets. He didn't know what an outlet was. What is up with this place, I wondered. As I began re-zipping up my bag, a hand touched my shoulder.
"Hey!" Skylar exclaimed.
She hadn't abandoned me. I guessed this girl was okay after all.
