I walked up to the open entrance of a building full of young riders helping out around the stalls. I spotted a girl holding a shovel, sweating and I asked her where I could find a saddle shop. She borrowed the map and grabbed a pen from her pocket. She circled an area back in the Cape West Fishing Village.

"Right over here are your shops, stands, and basically the closest to civilization you can get in Golden."

I took a wonderful but long walk to the village and found a stand with gear.

"Hi, can I buy a saddle here?" I asked.

The man behind the counter gave me a questioning look.

"Just a saddle? You look new. You'll also need leg wraps, a saddle blanket, reins, and you can buy decorations, which are optional," the man said.

I was told to buy a saddle. Nothing else... but this man seemed to know what was correct. I knew nothing about any of these things, but I'd figure it out. And I had Skylar.

"Sure, I'll get all that, yeah." I tried to sound as normal as possible.

"Okay, you'll be getting the Golden Leaf collection, that's what's in stock. Okay?"

I nodded. I didn't know what he meant, but go with the flow, right?

"Alright, are these colors good," he asked as he held up a set of matching... shapes? I'm wasn't sure. I shrugged and told him yes.

"Last of all, how many hands is your horse?" the shopkeeper asked.  "I need the right sizing."

"Horse?" I said unsteadily.

I looked around. And everything Skylar said came together. The entire island is a living stable. I heard a flash of wind rushing and a familiar tail brushed my neck. Skylar, thank goodness you're here, I thought.

"Can I have a moment?" I asked the shopkeeper.

Skylar got off her horse.

She jumped down and said, "Yeah?"

"Skylar, I know Jorvik is all about horses. Everybody has one." She nodded. "I'm not sure why anybody had the guts to do this, but they sent me to a place where everybody rides horses." I paused. She beckoned me to continue. "I've never ridden before."

"Wow" is all she can say before I began to freak out. Tears well up in my eyes as a man and woman come to hug me.

"Mum, daddy, what-"

"This is Jorvik. We have to go now, but we'll see you around."

I never knew what it would take to see them again.
