Chapter 21: Early Gifts

Friday November 19th

"4 more days till our baby is 16." Dani said as she drove to the animal shelter with Stefania as her passenger. The toddler boy asleep in the backseat as they had gifted him with the presence of leaving school early to help with his sisters birthday present.

"I know." Stefania sighed. She dreaded for this day to come. Even though Andi matured at lot earlier in her ages, Stefania still didn't want this day to come. In a way it made it Andi twice as mature and before she knew it, she'll be turning 17 and then 18. Stefania wiped the tears from under her eyes and looked out the window.

"Don't cry my love." Danielle said as she intertwined her hand with hers, rubbing her thumb over it in comfort.
"I know but I don't know. She saved my life honestly and to see her become the person she is now, I'm so proud of her." Stefania let out with a tremble at the end. Danielle smiled and nodded as she continued to rub her thumb in comfort.

After a while the trio finally made it to the animal shelter. Andi had been talking about wanting another dog to add to the family. At first Dani and Stef were a little against it but the teenager pleaded to get one. Even told her parents she'll save up enough money to get stuff it may need. And she wanted to go the extra length to make her dream come true.

There was little labradoodle that Andi had her eye on. The both of them always enjoyed each other's company when she came to visit. And eventually Stef and Dani applied for his adoption without Andi knowing. So it was safe to say that the girl was going to be fairly excited for this gift.

As soon as they walked in the front desk lady instantly remembered the family was a smile grew on her face. "Your here! He's been prepped and is ready to go." She said and walked to get him. Soon a tiny little puppy came running down the hallway. Dani picked him up and started to pet his head. "Hi buddy." She said.
"Me touch." Mason said as he pulled on Danielle for her to squat down.
"Remember what we said right?"
"Gentle." He said and stroke his tiny hand across the body.
"Good job bubby."

"He's all yours."
"Thank you!"
"No problem."

Andi and Drew couldn't stop laughing as they were on the bus. Talking about a series of  random things that just so happened to be amusing to the two. "This is your stop." Drew pointed out the window.
"You mean our?"
"I keep forgetting I'm staying the night."  She chuckled and the two gathered off the bus.

Walking home, the two were messing around and joking with each other. Some say it was flirting but the friends didn't care. They were just happy that they could be in a peaceful state of mind around each other. Soon walking upon the house, Andi dug around her backpack to grab her key but couldn't find it.
"What are you looking for?" A concerned Drew asked.
"My house key! I can't find it! UGH!" She groaned and pulled stuff out left and right. Finding it in between one of her folders, she sighed in relief.

"I thought I was going to die." She sighed and both girls laughed as they walked into the home. "Hi bambina!" Stefania cheered as she ran out the hallway. "Hi drew!"
"Hello!"
"Bambina come sit on the couch please."
Andi looked around the room. "Ok." She hesitated to say but eventually did it. Drew followed behind with a cheeky grin on her face.

Dani and Mason stood in the hallway as they watched what was going on. The little puppy was a little too excited and was practically about to jump out of Dani's arms. Dani tried her best to hold him but he soon let out a loud bark that echoed the house. "What was that?" Andi asked as she turned her head. "That for sure was not Jeff."

The overly excited teenager got up from the couch to roam downstairs. Then being greeted with a furry friend by her legs. "SHUT UP! YOU DIDNT!" She squealed and picked the puppy up from the floor. "He's so cute." She whispered and stroked his fur.
"A little early birthday present." Stefania said and Mason along with Dani walked from the hallway.
"We tried to surprise you but someone is a little hyper." The older women chuckled.
"Bad doggie." Mason pouted.
"No he's not bad." Andi giggled. "He just needs some training, that's all."

"What are you going to name him?" Drew asked as she came over to pet the fur ball in Andi's arms.
"I don't know yet. Oh! I can't forget about my baby Jeff."

Andi wasn't kidding. Jeff had been there ever since Andi was like 9, so not too long before they met Dani. Nice.
"Jeff!" She called out and the white and black dog soon came trotting in the hall. Soon seeing the tiny puppy in her hands, Jeff started barking out of jealousy making the tiny dog whimper.
"Jeff, it's ok." Andi said and stroked her fur back. Bringing the tiny pup in front of her, Jeff took the time to sniff it out. Soon warming up to the puppy.

"So you wanted a new dog for your birthday?" Drew asked as they both walked down the side walk. It was a perfect day out today so the family wanted to take an evening stroll around the neighborhood. Drew and Andi were in front of Stef and Dani, along with Jeff and Mason.
"Yea. We went to different animal shelters and I fell in love with him."
"He's a cutie." Drew said and took her finger to stroke his fur. "What kind is he?"
"A labradoodle."
"Think of a name yet?"
"I think I have one in mind, yea."
"What is it?"
"Ford. But I don't know."
"That's actually a really cute name!" Drew cheered.
"That may be his name, I'm not for sure though."
"I like it."

Throughout the walk, the two teenagers laughed and smiled and raced each other until their legs gave out. The parents could not contain the smiles that her upon their faces the whole evening. "Your...your fast." Andi said as she huffed for the air she couldn't find. "How do people do this?" She said.
"Don't you dance?" Drew chuckled.
"I mean yea, but still. This is exhausting!"

As they all walked back into the house, the two teenagers ran to the living room as the puppy chased them. "Were gonna get you!" Andi said as her and her new partner in crime ran snd tackled the younger girl. The three of them all running around in the living room. The puppy attacked Drew as she fell onto the floor. "No!" She cheered out. "He got me."
"Good boy Ford!" Andi said as she swept him up and petted his fur. The dog breathing heavily against her chest.
"You guys want pizza?" Dani said as she came downstairs with her phone. "Im about to order some."
"Sure."

Once Drew made her way downstairs after taking her shower, she was greet with a sleepover fort thingy in he living room. "If we're having a sleepover, we're doing it somewhat big." Andi chuckled and walked over to the girl, admiring the view.
"Why are you staring at me?" The younger girl asked. Andi quickly turned her head back to the dining room when Danielle walked in with food.

"Horror movies or non horror movies?" Andi asked as she fluffed out the blankets. Setting the drinks against the wall and their plates right in front of them.
"Horror of course. Let's watch The Nun."
"All-nighter it shall be." Andi chuckled nervously. As she still didn't like the horror movies but why not give it a try with your best friend over.
"Come on. I'm right here. Nothings gonna get you."

Andi gulped loudly and just started the movie. After a while, of screaming and laughing along with a couple tears and jumps. The two of them fell asleep on top of each other. Andi's head rested on top of the youngest girls chest, meanwhile she kept her arms tightly around her waist.
