Chapter 22: Sweet 16!

Sunday November 21st

"Is she awake yet?" Stefania asked in a hurry as she rushed down the stairs.
"No." Drew said as she helped Danielle place the small decorations on the wall and drop the small balloons on her floor as well.
"Good." She let out a breathe of relief. They all continued to work as fast as they could to make sure everything was set in place.

"My donut." Mason said as he tried to reach for the plate of donuts that sat on the counter. Stefania can over and slowly pushed the plate away from him. He pouted, crossing his arms. "Wait for sissy." Stefania chuckled and slowly guided him back to the living room.
"She sleep much." He mumbled.
"How about you and me go wake her up." Drew said and reached out her hand for the toddler to grab onto.

Today was Sunday and it was supposedly going to be Drew's last day staying the night there. The two teenagers have had fun these last couple days and to see her leave so soon was something they didn't want to happen. From staying up late all night to going out for ice cream almost every day. Going along with their relationship growing, Drew and Mason has gotten pretty close as well.

The toddler and the teenager snuck into the birthday girls room. It was still a little dark inside the room. The streaks of sun shining through the tapestry that hung over the window. Mason climbed on top of her bed and Drew walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. "Bubba is its to early." Andi groaned and tries to move him off of her. 
"I want donut!" He slightly yelled at her.
"Then get one."
"Mommy said wait." He pouted.
"Then wait bubbas."
"What he meant to say was that, he has to wait on the birthday girl." Drew smirked and crawled to where her head could lay on the unoccupied pillow.

"SISSY WAKE UP!" He screamed and started jumping on her. "I WANT MY DONUT!"
"I'm up! I'm up!" She groaned and sat up groggily in the bed. Rubbing her eyes and blinking a few times before getting adjusted to the sun.
" 'bout damn time." He mumbled under his breath leaving the other two in shock.
"Bestie really wants his donut." Drew chuckled and all three of them got out of bed and went downstairs.

"Happy birthday Bella!" Stefania cheered and gave a hug to the now 16 year old.
"Thank you!"
"Happy birthday bubs." Danielle said.
"Thank you."
"Can we have donut now?" Mason asked for like the 12th thousand time.
"Yes Mason. You can have a donut."
Everyone sat around the dinner table and it was filled of talking and laughter. A couple more looks were exchanged between the teenagers of course.

"Alright present time!" Stefania said and got up from the table to grab some of her presents and Andi would open the rest after they got back from dinner later on tonight.
"Can I go first?"
"Of course."

Drew slid a envelope to the birthday girl and smiled. "Read the note to yourself." She whispered. Ands nodded and begin to open the envelope. It was a white envelope and on the inside was a birthday card. The front was a college if pictures from the two. One of the pictures was them laying on the ground, on top of a blanket, at the park. They had did that often. Go to the park after school and would lay there in the grassy fields. Watching the clouds when it was a perfect day or being huddled up together from the cool breeze that would flow through. This specific picture though, was probably one of the best park visits to date. It was a little cold outside not to cold though. The two of them had decided to walk the trail that day instead. Soon somehow finding their way rolling down the hill afterwards.

That was the picture that was front and center on the card. It made Andi's face light up with pink tints and happiness. "Read it!"
"Ok! Ok!"
Slowly opening the card, there was writing on the inside but also a note fell out. She opened the note and started reading.

Andi, 

I don't even know where to start. Guess I should start by saying happy birthday!! :) You're finally 16! Not to long until I'm 16 lol. Now I'm going to say this, but don't freak out. We met, 18 days ago. Crazy right?! 18 freaking days ago. But I swear it felt like we've know each other longer. But I can safely say that these 18 days have been the best 18 days of my life. You are such a kind hearted person. Sweet, talented, amazing. One thing that I love about you is that you enjoy and see the best in people. Even if people don't see it about you. But guess what? I see the best in you. When we met in class that day, I knew there was something good about you. Something different. I knew that if we ever became friends that I would always be there for you. But there are times where you were there for me. And I thank you for that. I thank you for everything you've done for me. It wasn't always easy for me to make friends but you, you made it easy. You made me feel like I have finally found a reason. And I thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you Andi. I always have and always will. Enjoy your birthday beautiful.

Andi looked up from the note. Wiping away the tears that fell from her eyes. Looking at Drew the both of them started laughing at one another. Andi sniffled and got up to give her a hug. "I love you too." She whispered in her ear and squeezed harder. As if she never wanted to let her go.
"Thank you."
"No need."

"After that I feel like our presents suck." Danielle chuckled.
"No yours are gonna be awesome. I just wanted to do something sweet for her. She deserves it."

After opening her early presents, Andi and Drew went upstairs in her room. "Wanna watch a movie or something?" Andi asked, plopping down on her bed.
"It's your birthday."
"And?"
"We should do something."
"Kay, Kam, and Iz are coming over soon."
"How long is soon?" Drew asked.
"I don't know. Soon." She laughed.

Drew walked over to the bed and climbed on it. "We should watch a movie." She said. Andi moved closer to the younger girl and looked her up and down. The tension between the two became very intense. Andi felt the butterflies in her stomach, appear quickly. As if she sent off a signal for them to go crazy. Drew honestly felt the same way. The butterflies going crazy. The signals bouncing off of each other.
"What movie do you want to watch?" Ands said and went to grab the tv remote.

Drew felt a sharp pain in her chest. So close. She thought. But soon came to realization that maybe she wasn't ready yet. The both of them could feel the feelings for each other but with her recent break up with Sophie, she needed some time to rethink things.

"Doesn't matter to me."
"Can I tell you something?" Andi asked nervously as she slowly walked back to the bed.
"Of course. What's up?"
"I love you. I really do. Like more than friends. As it took me a while to finally get that off my chest. But I really do love you. But I don't want to move into anything just yet. With everything that happened recently-"
"Andi breath. Your rambling."
"I'm sorry."
"No need."

A/N: Short chapter. I know. But I'm grounded right now hehehe 😐✌🏾. I'll be ungrounded hopefully week after next. Idk yet but I'll see you guys soon and hopefully this will make up for it now until I have my phone back. Hope you enjoyed and enjoy the rest of your day/ night. - Shay :)
