Tenzin had a feeling Lin was cheating on him. She was always 'working' and coming home late. She seemed anxious every time he asked about work. Honestly he was becoming more and more suspicious as the days went one. One day, he had enough and hired a man to follow her.

Tenzin: "Just stay out of her sight. If you see her raise her foot high off the ground, turn the other way and act like you're walking the other direction. Maybe try to approach her at one. Flirt and see if she flirts back." The man nodded and Tenzin sent him away.

*The Next Day*

Tenzin informed the man of Lin's whereabouts so he could get there and still he able to find her.

Lin was walking down the street and felt someone following her. His pace sped up and he started to walk next to her.

Lin: "May I help you? You've been following me for the last 4 blocks."

"I'm sorry but I saw your beauty from afar and needed to talk to you."

Lin: "No thanks."

She sped up and refrained herself from arresting him for harassment and stalking.

"My name's Kaen. May I take you out sometime? I feel like we could really be something special."

Lin: "Once again, no thanks."

Kaen: "Why not give me a chance?"

Little did either of them know, Tenzin was watching from behind them. He didn't like the fact that Lin was actually talking to him.

Suddenly Lin took out her hand cuffs and arrested the man. Tenzin was shocked and exposed himself out in the open.

Tenzin: "Wait why are you arresting him?!"

Lin: "Tenzin?! I thought you were supposed to be teaching the nomads?"

Tenzin: "I- I mean well-"

Kaen: "Tenzin tell your girlfriend to let me go!"

Lin: "You two know each other?" Lin looked at her boyfriend with disbelief, distrust, and many other things. But most of all, she looked hurt.

Tenzin: "I- I hired him..."

Lin: "To follow me." She let Kaen go and started to walk away, not willing to let either one of them see her cry.

Tenzin: "Lin!" Kaen shrugged and went about his own business. He had gotten paid and did what he was supposed to. "Lin please!"

Lin: "You don't trust me!"

Tenzin: "How can I when you act all suspicious!"

Lin: "We can talk about this at home. I have work and you probably just ruined the whole case."

Tenzin: "What case?"

Lin: "Can't say. It's against the rules to tell someone outside of work about a case that has nothing to do with them." Lin walks away after that and Tenzin goes home feeling guilty.

Later that night, Lin returns home exhausted. Her face was red as if she had been crying and her body was sluggish. Tenzin wrapped his arms around her but she pushed him off.

Lin: "Don't touch me." Tenzin sighed and watched as Lin bent her armor off. "Explain."

Tenzin: "I thought you were cheating."

Lin: "You don't trust me." She had said the same thing earlier but this time she sounded broken.

Tenzin: "I have a reason not to!"

Lin: "Please. Stop yelling and just fucking explain."

Tenzin: "You've been working more. Whenever I ask about work, you start acting anxious. You always come home late. Whenever I want sex, you simply deny me or ignore me."

Lin: "So you assumed I'm cheating. First of all, I've been working more because of this case. I act anxious because I keep thinking the same person we were trying to track down was in our house, listening. I come home late for the same reason I've been working more. I don't want sex because I'm exhausted. Just because you want something doesn't mean I want it too." Tenzin sat their silently and watched as Lin's foot planted firmly on the ground. Her shoulders relaxed and she wanted to cry again. "I hate you."

Tenzin: "W-what?"

Lin: "You don't trust me and I hate you. You sent one of your 'friends' to harass me! Both of you stalked me as I was working! Do you understand the stress I've been under for the past 4 months?! I work to protect you! To protect Katara and Bumi and Kya! The same fucking man that I've been tracking has been plotting against YOUR family!" She snapped. Tenzin was in shock. Lin stood over him now, breathing heavily, face even more red than before as tears ran down her face. "And today?! He finally got him." She said the last part more calmly. She had been paranoid since she found out that Zaheer and his friends were tracking down Avatar Aang's bloodline and the next avatar.

Tenzin: "Lin I-"

Lin: "Save it. I'm done with you." She limped to their shared bedroom and a bunch of aggressive shuffling was heard. She came back out with a few of her duffle bags, all of them full. "You can keep the house. I could care less about what you do with it."

Lin left that night. Tenzin was banned from coming into the Police Station unless it was absolutely important. Meaning he couldn't bring Lin lunch or beg for her forgiveness. He opted to sitting outside and waiting for her to get off but she would stay there day and night. He couldn't win her back. He gave up and she was happy about it too.
