Joe took a slow walk back to his house knowing that it was getting late and his parents would know that he wasn't in the house. He had snuck out knowing that his parents were in bed but he knew his parents, they would have known he left the house. He shut the door quietly and carefully before slipping his shoes and jacket off, he was about to make his way upstairs when he saw his mother's figure in the doorway.
"Joe can we talk?" Denise questioned in her pyjamas after getting out of bed when she heard her son leave the house. It could have only been him, her husband was sleeping next to her. Joe sighed nodding his head allowing his mother to take his hand and lead him through into the kitchen where they both took a seat. Joe begun stirring his hot chocolate in front of him, his mother would always make hot chocolate from scratch when there was something serious to talk about which just made him more nervous about what she might say. "Where did you go?"
"I couldn't sleep so I went for a walk." Joe stated not looking at her.
"I think we both know that is a lie don't we," Joe sighed again crossing his arms on the counter laying his head down on them. "Now tell me where you really went please." Joe hesitated for a couple of moments wondering whether to just tell her the truth or come up with another lie. He knew lying wouldn't help because she'd know straight away.
"I went to see Grace." Joe mumbled closing his eyes.
"And where does Grace live?" Denise questioned Joe taking in a deep breath.
"I don't know the address, I just know where the house is." Joe revealed telling the truth, he knew she would believe him.
"Would you take me to the house tomorrow?" Denise asked but Joe was quick to shake his head, she saw that coming. "Why not?"
"I don't want to." He spoke simply sitting up only to take a sip of his drink his head then going back on his arms. He felt tired now and just wanted to go to bed, he knew he would sleep now he had seen her again after so long.
"Joe me and your father just want to help you, if you show me what house she lives in maybe I can go talk to her and see why she doesn't want to see you anymore." Denise encouraged Joe hesitating for a couple of moments before nodding his head.
"Fine, we'll go tomorrow but don't ruin this for me mom. I love her." Joe supped the rest of his hot chocolate before making his way upstairs again. Denise smiled of accomplishment finishing her drink too before joining her husband in bed.
Demi woke up the next morning hearing her boys screaming her name. She smiled getting out of bed not caring that she was still half asleep, her boys wanted her. She wondered through into their bedroom smiling when she saw her identical boys sat up on their beds looking as if they have had a good night's sleep unlike Demi. She couldn't get this guy out her head.
"What's wrong boys?" Demi questioned.
"Breakfast?" Jayden inquired Demi not helping but laugh.
"You boys are always hungry!" Demi accused making the two boys giggle. "Come on then, what we having for breakfast today?"
"Pancakes, then we can go to the park!" Isaac exclaimed knowing it was Saturday, they always went somewhere on a Saturday and then had a lazy day on Sunday when Demi's parents usually came over to see their Grandsons.
"That okay will you Jay?" Demi followed Jayden and Isaac down the stairs and into the kitchen where she helped them up at the counter on the bar stools.
"It was my idea!" Jayden argued Demi not helping but laugh when the boys started to fight over who came up with the idea.
