Episode 39

Joe didn't look away when Demi looked back up at him but she did her eyes laying back down on the table. She did need to try hard to get the thought of him out of her mind holding the gun towards her, she saw that Joe as a different guy. He was changed and although he had the same face he didn't have the same personality. She didn't know what her feelings were for him. Sometimes she watches him play with Jayden and Isaac and she could just fall for him but other times she just didn't want to get involved. The boys were still young and she didn't know what they would think about her dating again, they had always been so close to her. Joe moved his eyes away too when the waitress came over with their meals.

"I don't like tomatoes." Jayden complained when as the waitress left.

"Have you ever tried them?" Joe questioned Jayden shrugging his shoulders. "Try them and then it's fine if you don't, just take them out the burger." Jayden picked up the tomato off his burger bringing it up to his mouth, he nibbled it Demi not helping but laugh as did Joe.

"It's not going to poison you, take a real bite!" Demi encouraged which was all Jayden needed to hear for him to put the whole tomato slice in his mouth the two of them watching as his eye lit up his mouth pulling a smile.

"I think he liked it." Joe whispered to Demi only making her laugh more.

"It's yummy!" He exclaimed taking the other slice in his mouth beginning to munch on that as well going to steal Isaac's off his plate but his brother smacked his hand away.

"I think we found a new favourite fruit of yours, I'll buy some when I go shopping baby." Demi promised knowing Isaac liked to take his burgers apart to eat. It was rare when they ate out Demi knowing it wasn't good for her boy's diet but she liked to treat them every so often, they deserved it. She just wanted them to be healthy.

"Not as good as our burgers are they?" Joe questioned.

"No way!" Isaac exclaimed giving him a high five.

"Yes I heard you stole my burger recipe." Demi snapped in a jokingly way.

"What can I say?" Joe grinned making her giggle.

Demi opened the door to her house laughing as the boys ran in. Today had been fun, she had barely stopped laughing throughout the day but she did feel tired, she found herself going to bed early all the time since the crash but she knew her body would take a while to recover from what had happened. She knew she would be okay in the end.

"You want to come in for a drink?" Demi questioned turning around to Joe.

"I should probably actually get home, I still have some work to mark." Joe sighed Demi not helping but let out a laugh. He loved his job but he knew from experience that this time of the year was the worst but it was worth it when summer came around.

"Well thank you for today, I enjoyed myself." Demi confessed.

"I knew you'd like baseball, it's easy to understand. Maybe next time we play you can join in. That reminds me I still haven't paid for that broken window at my parent's house." Demi laughed again shaking her head.

"As if a teacher can't pay for one window." Demi teased.

"I don't get paid as much as you think I do." Joe states.

"I think you get paid more than me and you still manage to spoil the boys." Demi observed Joe smiling, he knew he did spoil them but they deserved it. They were great boys.

"They deserve it." Joe shrugged his shoulders Demi smiling.

"Anyway I should probably go before the boys run rampage through the house, bye Joe," Demi was about to enter the house when Joe grabbed her hand. "What's wro..." Demi's sentence was cut short by Joe pressing his lips against hers Demi instantly kissing back.
