Not long later Joe said goodbye to his family for a good couple of months. It was two years after the incident and Demi soon settled back into life with Jayden and Isaac, they still don't know to this day what happened to Demi and she wanted to keep it that way. She didn't want them feeling as if they are going to lose her. Jayden and Isaac just had their seventh birthday and asked where Joe had gone a couple of times soon after the incident but soon realised that they weren't going to see him again, they remained closed and inseparable. Joe spent a rough five months away from his family in a treatment centre who helped him get better, he was back to being the Joe that his family once knew. He was also back to being one of the favourite teachers in the school and Nick still enjoyed spending most lunches with his brother in his classroom.
"You want to come over and watch the game tonight?" Nick questioned his brother as he took a huge bite out of his tuna sandwich.
"I'm busy tonight with Steph." Joe replied.
"You're always with her though!" Nick complained like a child, Joe couldn't help but laugh taking a sip of water from his bottle.
"Guess what Nick," Joe spoke Nick looking at him again so he could pay attention to what his brother had to say. "Couples usually spend time together."
"But not every day!" He argues back.
"I haven't seen her since Saturday, we'll watch the game this Saturday if you want?" Joe suggested Nick sighing nodding his head. Nick wasn't very fond of Stephanie and not just because she seemed to steal Joe away from his family, there is just something about her which he didn't know yet. He knew his parents didn't like her much either but they got on with her because Joe seemed to really like her, they wouldn't stop him being happy.
Demi wondered down the street after work holding onto Jayden and Isaac's backpacks as she walked, the two boys were in lead walking in front of her but not very fast for them to leave Demi's sight. They had grown up so much, Demi wished they were little again because she knew that they were only going to grow up quicker. Demi had a piece of paper in her hands reading it as she went along looking up every so often to make sure both her boys were still in sight.
"Boys do you want to go on this trip?" Demi asked them as she folded the paper up putting it in her pocket. Jayden and Isaac slowed down a bit so they could talk to their mom about the trip the school would be going on next week.
"What is high school like?" Jayden questioned.
"That's what the trip is for, so you can find out. You'll be going up to middle school first but it's a good insight to what could be coming up in the future." Demi explained holding Isaac's hand as he reached out to hold hers.
"What if it's scary?" Isaac asked Demi smiling squeezing his hand.
"You'll be with a teacher at all time, you'll be fine but if you don't want to go nobody is forcing you to." Demi would never push them into something they didn't want to do neither would she allow the school to, they had to make their own choices.
"I want to go, get out of school." Jayden grumbled making Demi laugh.
"I'll go too then!" Isaac exclaimed wanting to be with his brother. Demi knew that one day they might be split up at school, when they had different lessons but she also knew that it would be a good thing for them so they didn't relay on each other as much. She wanted them to keep the bond they had but at the same time have their own friends. One day they would have their own families and wouldn't see each other every day.
"Okay boys make a start on your homework and I'll make a snack up." Demi demanded softly as the three of them entered the house.
