Episode 38

Weeks went by and soon it had been two months since Demi woke up from the coma, she had been recovering well and only spent a couple of days in hospital after she woke up from the coma just so the doctors could make sure that she was okay before they discharged her. She had the pot on her leg for another three weeks before it was taken off everyone happy that it had healed well. She was just happy to get her live back with her boys again who seemed just as happy to get their mom back in their lives. They were still spending the odd Saturday or Sunday with Joe when he had time with work, exams were coming up for his students so spent a lot of time seeing where he could help them out but more importantly he found himself becoming friends with Demi as well as the boys. He understood Demi when she didn't want him alone with them at first but now she trusts him enough to take them away from her and be alone with them. However today they would be going to the base ball game again for the third time, he kept his promise to take them back. 

"Come in." Demi instructed as she opened the door revealing Joe, he entered the house after greeting her making his way into the living room where Jayden and Isaac ran over giving him a hug. Joe hugged each of them before standing up straight again. 

"Go Yankees!" Jayden exclaimed making Joe laugh. 

"You know you've brainwashed them into liking that team." Demi states folding her arms over her chest shaking her head gently. 

"I did no such thing, they picked the team all by their self." Joe argued turning Isaac's cap around so the front was facing the back. 

"Somehow I don't believe you ." Demi grinned. 

"Don't you like the Yankees?" Joe questioned. 

"I don't really support anything, I don't really understand Baseball if I'm being honest." Demi revealed giggling when the three boys gasped. 

"That's it your coming with us, I'll teach you, go get ready." Joe demanded. 

"No I'm fine, I have housework to do, you go have fun." Demi demanded back. 

"Please come mommy! It will be fun!" Jayden begged Demi sighing surrendering. 

"Fine I'll just go get changed." Demi shook her head as she made her way up the stairs, she could hear the three boys cheering in the living room. 

"Okay I think I understand it a bit better now but it's still not my kind of thing." Demi admitted as they sat in a diner ready to have dinner. She had fun at the game spending time with her sons and the man who was becoming one of her closest friends, she will admit she understood the game more when Joe explained. 

"Women." Joe shook his head getting a smack from Demi. 

"Don't you teach my boys anything sexist yet, they are only seven!" Demi accused laughing when Joe brought his hands up to his chest in surrender. 

"I haven't I promise." He argued taking a sip of his drink. 

"Whatever, have you found the end yet?" Demi watched as her sons were trying to find the end of the maze on the sheet of paper that the waitress had given them, Demi could see the concentration on their faces as they tried the best. She could tell that they had heard her but just chose to ignore her so she decided to leave them to it. 

"When are you going back to work?" Joe questioned. 

"I think in another week or two, at least you get a break through summer. Childcare is so expensive, I can't ask you or my parents to take them for the whole summer." Demi stressed slightly. 

"Maybe not the whole summer but I don't mind taking them for a couple of weeks." Joe replied but Demi shook her head. 

"I can't ask you to do that." Demi repeated.

"I want to." Joe spoke not helping but looking in her eyes, he couldn't deny the feelings he still had for her.
