Episode 61

"No daddy!" Jayden screamed out for Joe struggling in Jack's arms, he had never been so scared in his life and neither had Joe just seeing the man in front of him holding a knife near the boy he saw as his own son. He made sure that Isaac was well away from him and out of view so he couldn't see what was happening to his brother. Joe had to be calm, if he panicked he knew Jayden would just panic even more than he already was. The people backing off but still watching in horror didn't help but yet nobody seemed to step forward and help them.

"Jay don't struggle, just calm down," Joe spoke softly Jayden following his orders in settling down but tears where rolling down his cheeks. "You don't need to do this Jack, what is the point in all this?" Joe tried to make him see what he was doing but he seemed past help by now, seemed as if the drugs and alcohol have taken over his body.

"Because she took them away from me! I should have been able to see them when they were born instead I just got pushed away, I should have been able to see them grow up into the boys they are now but she took that away from me!" Jack screamed, Joe could see his hands shaking which just scared him more thinking he might make a mistake and accidently cut Jayden's neck.

"I'm sure Demi had her reasons but holding a knife to his neck isn't going to help anything is it?" Joe answered holding Isaac's hand as he took it. Suddenly the police burst in at least thirty guns pointing towards the young boy and the man who had hold of him. Jayden just whimpered closing his eyes not knowing what was going to happen now.

"Put the boy and the knife down, drop to the floor with your hands behind your head!" The leader of the police demanded Joe able to see Hank and Annie not far away. Jack took in a deep breath bringing his arms down making Jayden fall from him, he dropped to the floor his hands behind his head as Jayden scurried up darting to Joe giving him the biggest hug he could.

"Your okay now." He whispered in his ear as the boy broke down against him.

Joe was soon sat in a office the airport had where troublemakers usually ended up, they had given a statement to the police which would be evidence for Jack's trial but everyone was certain he was going to go away for a long time. Joe had both Jayden and Isaac on his lap not caring that they were a little big and hurting his knees a little bit, after what they had gone through they deserved a lot more than for them both to sit on his knee.

"I don't want that man to be my daddy." Jayden grumbled, he was still a little shaky after what had happened but he had calmed down a lot over the last half an hour.

"He will always be your dad biologically but that doesn't stop another man being a better one. You don't have to see him ever again or ever call him your father." Joe explained.

"Will you be our daddy?" Isaac questioned.

"I'd love to be your dad but it's not just up to me to decide, mommy has a say." Joe answered kissing his head gently.

"I don't care what mommy says your my daddy." Jayden mumbled burying his head into the nape of his neck. Joe smiled not saying another word. He loved these boys so much and he had no doubt in the world that Demi wouldn't let me be their father. He already practically was, all that needed to happen was for them to call him daddy rather than Joe. He couldn't deny how worried he was about Demi, how she was doing and whether she made it to hospital in time for them to save either one or both his children. He didn't know what he would do if he arrived at the hospital and he only had one or no children at all because of the stress Demi was under. He would never blame her for just worrying about her boys.

"Everything is okay, you are allowed to go home." Annie told them as she entered the room.

"Thanks," He spoke to Annie. "Get up boys then, we can go see mommy!" He exclaimed but neither of the boys were up to fun and games. They were exhausted after what had happened this week.
