Episode 75

Joe pulled outside the house he shared with Demi and their family after having the small chat with Steph. He really hoped the baby wasn't his but he would be there for her if she was. Joe climbed out the car locking the door behind him smiling when the door to the house opened revealing the identical boys screaming out for him. He made his up the path hugging them both back when they gave him a hug. He hoped that they weren't too scared when they woke up and neither their parents were around but he was here to reassure them that everything was okay. At least for now. They had agreed it wasn't best for them to see Maya yet, not even a picture because of how small and weak she was. She barely even looked like a baby but her parents still loved her just as much as they would have done if she had came at the right time.

"Is mommy poorly again?" Isaac questioned as they all stepped inside the house Joe shutting the door behind him the three of them making their way into the living room where Selena was sat on the couch. She gave him a small smile as he greeted her.

"Mommy and babies are okay but your sister is here." Joe explained lifting Jayden up on his lap as Isaac took the seat in between him and Selena.

"She is? What about our brother?" Jayden questioned.

"He's still in mommy's tummy." Joe stated poking his stomach making the boy giggle pushing his arm away but Joe poked him again.

"I thought twins have the same birthday?" Isaac questioned.

"They normally do but your brother and sister are special, they will still be twins but will be born a couple of months apart." Joe explained trying to make sense of it to them. He was scared that his daughter wasn't going to make it but tried not to show it around the boys.

"She's so tiny." Selena mumbled as she stared at the picture of Maya on Joe's phone. None of their friends or family would ever believe a baby could be so small and be alive but Maya seemed to be a fighter and hanging in there. They just hoped she would continue that way and not fall ill. She would die and never meet her little brother.

"We're not even allowed to hold her yet." Joe answered taking his phone back when she handed it to him. He slipped it in his pocket, he had it on him at all times in case something happened to his girlfriend or children. He would be there in an instant.

"Have you got a name for her yet?"Selena inquired.

"Yeah, Demi wanted to come up with them before she was born in case something went wrong. Maya Grace, we already signed and wrote on the birth certificate, we have Mason for the boy but we haven't got a middle name yet." Joe explained.

"Aw those names are cute, you should get back to Demi though. She will want you." Selena urged but Joe reassured her that it was Demi's idea that he was here to make sure that Jayden and Isaac were okay, they planned not to spend too much time away from them. Demi could hopefully come home in a couple of days, they would come back regularly to see Maya, Demi would be breast feeding her using a pump. It was what was best for her.

"I kinda need a little bit of advice." Joe admitted.

"What have you done now?" Selena questioned seeing the guilt on his face. He didn't like hiding anything from Demi, especially when it's as serious as it is. He hoped that she wouldn't be too hard on him, if the baby was his she would have been conceived before they got together.

"I bumped into Steph this morning when I went to get some ice chips for Demi, she's pregnant and is claiming that she's my baby. I just don't want to tell Demi yet and put her under any stress but I hate lying to her." Joe expressed hoping that she would give him some advice and not scream at him. He needed girl advice too at the moment which he seemed to lack with around his family.
