Epilogue

It was a fine Saturday. The sun was shining brightly and the birds tweeted happily.  All is well. Nick, Alex and her mom were on their way to pick up Luke from the orphanage to go get lunch together.

Nick was on the passenger's seat while Alex sat in the back,  excited to see her boyfriend of 2 weeks now. Good thing, they were able to get there smoothly without being stuck in traffic.

Alex was the one to get off first when her mom turned off the engine.  She looked up at the two-storey beige colored
orphanage in front of her. It was a bit old but it was still as lively as ever.

She saw Eliana, a volunteer to help manage the kids,  come out of the orphanage to feed the children's beloved pet dog,  Sushi. Eliana waved and smiled warmly when she saw the three of them.

"The two of you go. I'll wait for you here. " Vanessa said,  leaning on the car.

"Race you. "Alex stated with a laugh ,  running towards the orphanage.

"Hey!  Not fair. "Nick whined running after her. Vanessa grinned,  watching how her daughter have grown.

Her phone beeped. Vanessa fished her phone from her backpocket. It was a text from an unknown number.

'Look behind you. '

She turned around and if possible smiled even wider. It was Ethan across the street.  He waved his hand. Vanessa waved back.

Ethan turned to go just as a car passed. Just like that, he vanished. Nevertheless she kept smiling,  knowing that he would forever guard them.

Meanwhile,  Luke was singing a song for a little  seven year old girl named Jade who asked him to play as her husband for her pretend game with two of her friends. As he expected,  all the children gathered around and just sat on the floor listening to his song.

Just then, Alex along with Nick entered the room. Luke whose attention was on Jade immediately felt Alex's presence and his gaze was now upon her.

'Cause I was born to tell you I love you
And I am torn to do what I have to, to make you mine
Stay with me tonight'

The kids applauded and roared with adoration after he finished singing the song. They showered him with compliments and he kindly thanked them.

"That was amazing Luke! Thank you for singing me a song" Jade giggled.

"Anytime munchkin.  Tell you what... The next time I come back I'll teach you how to play the guitar. "

Jade's eyes widened and was literally vibrating.  "That's a promise. "

"Promise. " he said,  disheveling her hair and standing up. He put the guitar in its case  and smiled brightly at the kids. "See yah next time guys.  My escorts seem to have arrived."

Nick rolled his eyes and Alex punched him slightly on the shoulder.  The children said their goodbyes and even followed them up until the door.

Vanessa got in and started the car when she saw them approaching.  Nick sat on the passenger's seat while the two of them sat at the back. Alex leaned her head on Luke's shoulder and he didn't mind at all.

After all she's been through,  she finally felt contented and happier than ever. Her mom and dad were now in good terms, they stopped what could be the beginning of  the world's abomination and she found a simple someone whom she met once upon a time at a drive thru who loves her with all his heart.  What more could she ask?

And all these could never have happened if it wasn't for the body swap.

Thank you for sticking with me on this journey even though it took a long long long time to finish. I hope you liked the story. And I dont know why but for some reason my phone keeps messing up my story sometimes so I  am sorry for that.

Note:This story is still unedited. You may have also noticed a slight mix up with the character names.  It's because I decided to change their names (Idk why tho) after publishing the first few chapters.
