The Body Swap (completed)

CHP5

Alex sat on the rooftop of their mansion. She was alone at home. Not that she thought her mom was at home. Such a workaholic she is , Alex knew that. And even if her mother got home early , she's probably at their other house. Tired as can be.

The sun started to descend. Layering itself over the flat beach. Painting the horizon with the mixture of orange , reddish and yellowish colors. Such a beauty.

Alex closed her eyes , the salty breeze meeting her face. She didn't need to fix her hair since it was still Luke's body. His dark brown hair wasn't covering her eyes.

The sun set and Alex had a funny feeling arise in her. She felt dizzy. Everything around here started to blur out. Her breathing fastened. Still , she managed to maintain her sitting positioned.

What is happening? , she thought to herself.

In a blink of an eye , she was suddenly transported into a room. She is currently laid on a bed with a familiar scent. A voice from the other room was heard.

Nick?

"Luke... Get your ass outta bed and help me cook dinner or something." Nick's head chimed at the entrance of the door with an annoyed look.

She sat up. The room was neat. It smelled like a man. Confused , she slapped herself not so hard. It's not a dream. Nick looked at her weirdly.

"Uh-- something wrong?"

Alex squealed in delight and went over Nick who still was frustrated as heck. "I'm back! I'm back! I'm back! I am back!" She shook Nick , holding both his shoulders.

"Alex?"he asked.

"Yes!" With much joy , she actually hugged Nick. Caught by surprise, he stiffened. After a few moments , she realised what she was doing and awkwardly broke the hug. She knew by the way he acted that he wasn't  that comfortable around people. That's why he's always around Luke.

"Oh sorry... I was just..um...yeah you know."Alex scratched the back of her head.

"Wait if you're you then where's Luke?"

Immedietly , she drew out her phone and called him. He picked up in an instant. "Luke! We're back to normal. Thank the heavens."

"Yeah. I can see that."he mumbled , still in a bit of a daze. "Now we can live our normal lives again!"She squealed once more.

"Hey. Don't leave till I get there will you? Keep an eye on my brother."

When Alex agreed , Luke dropped the call and started his way to return home. The both–while waiting for him – started cooking their dinner. She had fun. Especially because Nick was a great cook.  At his age , its impressive that he even knows how to cook. A good kid he is.After some time, Nick played some music on his phone and they both danced and sang to it. They didn't notice the time gone by and both were still dancing and singing even though they finished cooking.

Alex held a spatula on hand and  was doing a lip sync , mimicking the voice of the man singing a good old country song. She was standing on the counter and soon enough , held her hands to Nick to come and join her. They were having a pretty good time until they saw Luke , staring at them with a small smile.

"Am I interrupting something?"he asked. Nick jumped down the counter, followed by Alex.

"No. Actually you're just in time for dinner. Alex helped me prepare."He smiled at his older brother.

"Really?"His attention turned to Alex who was also smiling warmly at him. A weird tug erupted in his chest. He ignored this.

"I've waited for your arrival just like you asked. Now , I must go. It's becoming late. It was nice meeting you. Both of you."

"Aren't you going to stay for dinner?" Luke questioned.

"Hm? Me? Nah , I'll just eat at home. Don't worry about me. Right , bye." Alex turned her back on them and headed for the door.

"We can still be friends you know." Luke said as Alex turned the knob of the door and opened it.

"Aren't we friends already?"Alex chuckled before completely vanishing from the two brothers' sight.

"Aww. Someone has a crush."Nick told him in a sweet but also irritating manner. Luke faced him with an expression of doom. "You want to die bastard?"

A sweat ran down Nick's forehead. He got two spatulas and held it in front of him , forming it into a cross. "I condemn you back to hell demon!" He said jokingly.

This annoyed Luke even more. "Shut up. Let's eat .... "

Nick laughed even more at him.

Alex woke up with contentment in her mind. At least Sean gave in her reason as to why she punched him yesterday. Not exactly her but still. A familiar scent was mixed in the air. Or rather the sheets. She buried her face in the pillow and curled into a ball. She was at the edge to returning to sleep but something jerked her up.

The realization that she was in Luke's room. Again. What the--? The hair...face...chest...everything. It's not her body! Why did she return to his body? Did something happen?

She got out of bed and ran to Nick's room. There was not a single peep inside so she guessed that he must still be asleep. She knocked on the door. Nothing.

She knocked again. This time continuous. Alex heard some noises inside before the door opened with a half-naked Nick.

"Nick!It's me Alex. Why did this happen again? I thought it was all over."

"Alex?"he asked. "Wait, call your cell and tell Luke to come here."

And so she did what he told her to do and called him. It was until the 5th ring before he picked up.

"Hello?"He seemed annoyed that a person had called at such an hour.

"Luke , would you please get over here? To your apartment....something happened."

"Hm?Alex?"

"Yes it's me. Now get up and get over here."

They didn't have that much of a conversation. Luke ended the call and thirty minutes later he was already knocking on the door. Nick opened the door to reveal Alex's body still wearing PJs with the design of Hello Kitty on the fabric. Alex's face reddened in embarrassment.He was still wearing slippers and he looked like he hadn't slept in a while. Wow, does she really look that restless? , Alex thought.

Luke entered the apartment and sat down on the couch.Alex followed and sat besides him. She stared at him. Alex's dark brown eyes stared back at her. Its kinda weird looking at herself.

"Alright. So let' talk about this"

"Mhm."She nodded.

"So why do you think is this happening?"Nick asked.
