Vanessa heard her groan in pain as her back collided with the wall. Kristina finally removed her arm around Vanessa's neck. She gasped desperately for air, trying to make her breathing return to normal.

Ethan came to the rescue. He shielded her from Kristina. Kristina laughed bitterly and moved to punch him but he dodged.Her eyes said it all. Fight me.

"Ethan if you want, I could come and kick that bitch's arse." Sonya butted in.

"No you stay there and watch the kids. Don't worry we'll be there in a moment."He replied.

Ethan looked at Kristina who was shooting daggers at him. "I'm sorry."

Kristina was slightly frustrated."For what?"

"For this."He advanced towards her, bringing his fist towards her. He didn't care if she was a woman. She's a bad person.

Kristina foresaw his move and immedietly grabbed his arm the moment it went past the side of her head, twisting it.

Ethan moved quickly and found a way to get free of her hold. Using his foot, he swept the back of her legs causing her to be outbalanced and using that momentum to bring her down.

Her face was twisted in an ugly sneer of anger. She did a kip up and advanced again.

Vanessa looked around to find anything she can use to end this madness. She thought of the fire extinguisher. She ran to where it was located and ran back immedietly with it.

Ethan and Kristina were still trying to kill each other.  Kristina was high up in the air, ready to kick him with her leg. He caught it. He brought her down to the ground and she slid in between his leg. She was already behind him.Vanessa seized this moment to hit her in the head with the extinguisher.

She fell to the ground unconscious. Ethan looked at Vanessa. "You're welcome." She dropped the extinguisher.

They ran towards the elevator that happened to ding open, revealing Gunman, Steel and the dead corpse of Jonathan. His head splattered all around. The two men had some blood on theirselves and scratches from the fight.

"Hey Vanessa."Steel said.

Both of them entered the elevator. Vanessa covered her mouth to prevent herself from vomiting. It was a sight that would haunt her.

"Guys. She looks like she's about to vomit." Hacker said, looking at them from the surveillance camera inside the elevator.

She controlled herself and took deep breaths. Vanessa turned to face him.
"Life was great until you decided to show up and ruin it."

He met her gaze.Calmly, he said,"I showed up for a reason Vi. Xandra sought my help."

"Help from what? You know what? Never mind. Just ....don't speak anymore."She was tired and frustrated to argue with him.

Not a peep came out of anyone after that.

"Well this is awkward."Steel commented. Gunman nodded in agreement.

All of them got out of the building. Sonya volunteered to move out of the car since it's getting crowded. She rode with Gunman on his bike.

Steel looked over to Ethan."See you at headquarters." They wore their helmets and roared out of the parking lot.

Vanessa got in the passenger's seat and sighed in relief when she saw that Alex was alright.

"Mom you're alright!"Alex exclaimed.

"Luke why do you keep calling me mom?"She shot her a look of confusion.

Ethan replied for her."Apparently that's Xandra for the moment." He had his eyes on the road. They were driving back to headquarters.

"Cazzatta"

"Mom but it's true!"

"Yes she's telling the truth Ms. Hudson. It may sound crazy and unbelievable but it's actually true." Luke said.

"Honey stop speaking crap okay?  I'm not in the mood for jokes. And Luke, I know you are a great kid but stop calling me mom."

Vanessa's phone rang. It was Daniel. She got second thoughts whether to pick it up or not. With a reluctant sigh, she picked it up.

"Vanessa, a co-worker of yours called the police. Are you okay? Don't worry we are on the way. Just stay where you are. " His tone was nothing but pure concern.

"Actually I'm already out of the building."

"Huh? Who are you with?"

"Who's calling?" Ethan stated. Vanessa shushed him.Daniel heard Ethan's voice very clearly. His grip on the steering wheel tightened.

"Don't tell me you're with him."His concerned tone changed to a serious one.

"Vi who is it?"Ethan asked again. Nick and Luke sat in silence from awkwardness. Alex was happily listening to their conversation. She couldn't believe she's in the same car with her mother and father.

"It's Daniel. Now shush."

"Vanessa, he is a dangerous man."

"Okay dude, whatever you're saying the world's not going to end when you tell it to her later."Ethan interrupted once again.

"Vanessa mind telling that ass to shut the hell up."His tone was now irritated.

Things were starting to heat up. She had no choice but to hang up on Daniel. "Daniel , let's talk another time." She turned to face him. "Ethan what the hell?"

"What?"He asked defensively. Vanessa was about to go all out but then she remembered the presence of the three in the backseat. She looked outside the window to distract herself from her anger. She was angry at him for some reason. She wasn't sure why.

"You two got issues." Sonya laughed.

"Let them be Athena."Hacker said.

"Shut up."Ethan muttered, loud enough for them to hear which made them shut up.

Still focused on the road, he asked her a question to lessen the ear piercing silence that was going on."How have you been Vi?"

"I've been doing fine Ethan. Just fine."

There was yet again an awkward silence circulating in the car. Ethan looked at Vanessa. He could tell by her expression that something was bothering her.

"Something's on your mind."He stated.

She looked at him for a brief moment and returned her gaze back outside. "It's nothing."

It was obvious that it was Daniel on her mind. "It's about your cop boyfriend, isn't it?" His eyes were focused on the road.

Vanessa didn't answer. What he said was true. She was thinking about his proposal. It kept bugging her the moment it came out of his lips.

She looked at Ethan who was buzy driving. Somewhere deep inside her, she still cared for him even though he's a dipshit. He still became a part of her life so she couldn't hate him.

"How long is it till we reach their place? This is killing me."Nick whispered to Luke.
