"I'M NOT GOING MA" Zayden stood at the door, arms crossed against his chest.
"I don't want to go. I hate this" Zayden stated clearly feeling alone in the matter, but little did he know, his mom was feeling the same way. Zayden has been the only one handling it well, least better then Jayden and her combined. After being told she had to vacate her home sixty days from now, Olivia's life was falling apart at the seams.
"I know you don't want to go. But we have no place else to live, Zay. Grandla and grandpa have a big house for us to stay in and as soon as mommy can get enough money to do so, we will get our own place. This will be temporary"
That's what she deluded herself into thinking and believing. She spent two hours of last night bawling her eyes out while packing up the rest of their things. She sold all the furniture and anything they couldn't fit. In hindsight, they were bringing nothing but clothes, toiletries, and personal items.
"You're forcing us to go! This is our home we made with dad! Where he was! Why are you trying to make me miserable?"
"Absolutely Zayden. That's my aim here, to make your life miserable. You know what I'm not doing this with you, not today. We don't have a choice, we have nowhere to go and that's the bottom line."
He grumbled below his breath, putting his headphones back on with a slight glare. This became the new norm for Olivia with him. He just watches videos or listened to his music. He's full of anger, resentment, and confusion while Jayden has become depressed and clingy, tying himself to Liv's hip most of the time. There were times where Olivia wish she could be intune with her emotions like that but there's been no real time for her to grieve or feel on her own. She spent hours trying to find a way out of going back to Texas. It's inevitable. She has to live with her parents, work at the family company and come face to face with every person that counted on her coming back. The one thing she considers to be good is knowing that he won't be there. She's not even remotely prepared for everything coming her way, the last thing she wants is to face the boy she ran away with. Nina tussles the last box while Zayden and Jayden reluctantly place themselves in the car, with long faces planted in their expression.
She stands in the doorway, conflicting emotions raiding her consciousness. This was the home they brought their twin baby boys. Where they had their first steps, riding bikes, where memories were created and the vision of the future was imagined, only now they have pain to add to the equation. She hadn't used the master bedroom since she found Jadyn lifeless in there. She couldn't face it after that. She sees his body, though it isn't there and her heart races miles a minute just by touching the doorknob. So, she uses the hallway bathroom where's no haunting of those kind of memories, the memories that would keep her up at night. Memories of him, thoughts of him. She slowly closed the door of her home with tears dancing in her eyes. Despite what these last few months have brought her, this was home for her. Nina leaned against her car door, with sunglasses over her eyes, squinting from the overcast.
"Hey" She attempted a smile.
"It's not going to be forever, I'll be back" She says trying to promote conviction in her voice, she almost believed it herself.
Nina stepped forward. "I know"
"I mean it Nina, I want updates on the bakery, though I'm not an owner any longer"
That being the first thing she had to sell. The bakery wasn't profitable at the time, so the deal didn't make much, but it was enough to get her through for the time being.
"Girl hush! It will always be part yours!" Nina admonished her.
"Tell Lila to lay off the extra sugar. Remind Lola to make smaller batches of the banana cupcakes" She rambles, avoiding the words of goodbye. She hated goodbyes.
