A load of papers sat on Olivia's office desk that needed her attention. She headed for the office where she found Jordan sitting in a chair, with his hat hung over his face. She sneaked over and jumped, making a loud banging disruption. He leaped out of his chair with his fists balled up, ready to knock someone out. She bust out laughing as he shot her an hard glare.
"You think your funny"
"Nah, you think I'm funny"
"You're not tho"
"Oh, I think you do bro" Jordan rolled his eyes slapping the dirt off his leg from her boots, sitting back down.
"Don't sweat it sis, I'll get my payback in no time"
Olivia believed but didn't speak that out loud. Jordan and she used to wage war against one another when they were little, and Laura stayed threatening to beat them both every time. There was this one time, where Olivia took all of Jordan's shoes, putting them in a bag, and setting them on fire. Billy and Laura grounded her for a month from that and made her use her own allowance to buy him four new pairs of his favorite pair of J's.
"Mmm I'm sensing an challenge in your tone, and you know me enough to know that I don't back down from an challenge"
"Try your luck good sis, you'll never win this war, not wit me" He joked lightly pushing her to the side.
"Mmm yeah ok, whateva" She dismissed his antics.
"What brings you by though?" Jordan asked her honestly.
Jordan and Dillon never made time to stop here throughout the day and Olivia couldn't figure out how they were able to manage things like they've been. Since she's been here though, she was able to make sense of their invisible filling system, with Laura's help to add, after Billy fully retired. Jordan's way of handling things was pretending like it wasn't there, hoping it would just get resolved on its own. He'd rather ignore then make sure someone was there to take over.
"There's nobody here to tell me what to do aight"
"Ahhh haaa I see" she smirks. "Mom and pops meddling in your lack of love life again?"
Laura and Billy wanted more grandchildren. Wanted Jordan to have a wife, finally, and whenever they'd corner him about it, they wouldn't hold back.
"Ma's tryna set me up with some chick few towns over"
"She cute? An inch of pretty?" her small attempt at a joke but his face said everything that wasn't forming from his mouth.
"Guess not, dutifully noted"
"Anywho, I'm here cuz the twins wanted to go camping and get some exploration in. I was thinking bout taking them on a three-day ride. You okay with this?" Jordan asked for permission knowing how overprotective she was over her babies. Plus, she's been on these rides, they weren't easy.
"What about a one day camp out to start?"
"Because they're boys growing into men, stop pacifying them"
"I'm not babying them J"
"Right, sure you don't sis" The exasperation showed clear as day in his town.
"How bout we ask them. If they say yes, and they will, cuz uncle Jordan is dope, you have to let them go"
All senses of danger infiltrate her conscious. She had been on those trips one too many times but she had years to prepare for the danger that came with it, her twins on the other hand, did not. Jayden and Zayden knew nothing about camping, their father hated outdoors and the nature, and she never pushed him to go in another direction. She enjoyed nights out in the city and exploring all the fancy hotels in their vicinity. Jadyn's idea of camping out was a weekend at the hotel without room or any other special services.
