"You should curl your hair and pull it up"
Kia says as Olivia stands in front of the mirror.
"I'm so tired you're lucky I can keep my eyes open"
Olivia goes back to getting ready. Chante is on her way over to go out for the night. She's going to sing in town, and everyone was going to be there. Nobody was driving to Houston. It's been three weeks of meeting Spencer since they were intimate. She snuck out in the middle of the night and creeped back into her bed in the mornings. She still remembers the stair creaking pattern. Though she was pretty sure, Laura had known for a really long time. She's made plenty of references previously to the bags under her eyes and the grass stains on her clothes.
"Chante said it's mandatory you're there" Kia came behind her, fixing her hair.
"Let me pin it for you" After figuring out what to wear, they headed downstairs. Jordan's eyes lift, landing on Kia. Olivia's mind started to wonder. He watched her a little too long, grunting, and then going back to whatever, he was reading, which Liv found interesting.
"Hi, Jor!" Kia slapped him on the back of his head, and Olivia held back a laugh. It seemed that the feelings aren't being reciprocated.
"Kia" He rubbed his head.
"Going to see Chante?" He asked Olivia, trying to keep from looking over at her. Olivia gave him a knowing grin, she answered with,
"I think you should come" His face fell as he confirmed what she already suspected.
"Yeah" Kia chimed in.
"We should probably have a chaperone" Jordan gave a lame excuse, but Olivia let it go. Kia was Darnell's girl for a while. When a James claims their girl, everyone backs off. Unless, of course, you're a Baker. Olivia could only imagine how this would play out.
"Have fun ma!" Jayden says as he flipped through the channels with Billy.
"You guys behave"
"We won't leave the house, Ma" Zayden attempts a joke.
"Good" She mushed his hair.
Kia and Olivia head out to where Spencer will be, and she reminded herself that she'll have to pretend nothing is going on between them. They were still keeping things under the radar, but she didn't know how she was going to be able to stay away from him. She knew she wouldn't. When he's around, she's unable to resist being close to him. He filled her up and made everything brighter. The dark wasn't void when he's near. Plus, since they've been having sex, all she saw was him naked when she'd look at him.
"Kia" She called her attention.
"Why does the way you say my name worry me?" Olivia shook her head.
"It's not bad"
"Are you finally going to admit you and Spencer are back together?" She asked with a sly grin.
"You know?" Olivia questioned, slightly stunned.
"Of course, I know. Everyone knows, Olivia. I mean Spencer is walking around town as if he just won the state championship. You're suddenly smiling, like all the time. Both of you look like you're staying out all night...." Kia nudged her elbow with a laugh escaping her lips.
"Were not dumb, but we did let you have your secret" Olivia's mouth hung open. She really thought they were in the clear.
"Unbelievable" She mumbled to herself.
"I thought...."
"You thought nobody knew?"
"Yes!"
