Spencer wanted to make the night perfect. Olivia needed to get out of her own head and allow them to be them, for once. However, Olivia was an over thinker. Always had been.

"You sure about this?" Dillon asked as helped load the truck.

"Nah, but I'm tired of sleeping on this rock" Dillon laughed.

"I doubt that's what your reasoning is, but I'll play along for now. She's going to see through your bs though. She always does"

Spencer had the night planned down to every detail. Olivia will meet him like she always does, only this time, it wouldn't follow the path it has been for the past three weeks. Olivia refused to let him take her out, so he was going to force a date.

"Load the truck" He reminded him of his job.

"I don't remember asking for your commentary"

Dillon came over to grab a few things from their parents place. Somehow, that turned into an hour of him, yet again, saying how he was messing things up on the ranch. He didn't lend his help when their parents needed him to, now he was full of opinions and ideas. When he brought Layla on to help Spencer run things, Dillon quit that day and went to work for the Bakers. Instead of him growing up, and being an adult, he left his brother high and dry, Spencer's words not Dillon's. Their dad had an stroke and couldn't work anymore, so Spencer did what was needed. Their parents busted their asses for him, so this was the least he could do. Thanks to his dad, he was able to attend any football camp he wanted, travel, or take extra lessons. Because it was his dream.

"There's extra blankets because she tends to get cold" Dillon tossed another bag in the back of the truck.

"I know"

"I don't know what you know, Spence. I hope you're ready for whatever it is your doing. Olivia may think she's ready, but you've got your blinders on to everything else"

"You're not her brother, you're mine. Start acting like it" Spencer shoved his hat into Dillon's chest.

"I love her, I would never hurt her"

"You mean again?" Dillon retorted without looking his brother in the eyes continuing to load the truck. Spencer sighed heavily.

"And no matter what you think, this isn't some fling. This is me takin care of her"

"Whatever you say, Spencer. You always know best when it comes to her"

"What's your issue?" Dillon huffed.

"I'm sitting here watching you two sneak around. How the hell is that okay with you? If she's not even ready to talk about you both, how are you anything?"

"Not sneaking around. We're not kids anymore. She's got kids she needs to protect. There's a lot more to this than you think you know" Dillon crossed his arms.

"I'd bet that there's more you're not seeing. But hey, I'm just a young country boy, right?"

Dillon walked back in the house and Spencer let it go. Sometimes Dillon grumbled regarding Olivia. They had a very unique and special friendship, and Spencer respected it. At the same time, he hated it. He hated that Dillon got her on such a deep level. Spencer hopped in the truck heading to his and Liv's meeting spot. Only this time, their night was going to happen much differently.

Spencer: Head out early.

Olivia: I just put the twins to bed.

Spencer: Perfect.

Olivia: I didn't say yes.

Spencer: You didn't say no either. I've got a surprise.

He hoped this would get her attention. She was a stubborn Southern woman who liked to press his buttons. If he didn't keep her on her toes, she would continue going around in circles.

Olivia: Oh? What kind?

Spencer: The kind you need to come see. Your parents know, just come to our spot.

Spencer spoke with Laura this morning when he got the idea. She smiled, patted his leg, and told him he was back on her good side, for now. That's one Baker down. Billy was going to be a lot harder to convince.

Olivia: What are you up to, Spencer James?

He loved when she called him by his full name. She only did it when she's angry or feeling feisty.

Spencer: Love, get your fine ass down to our spot, we got us a hot date to attend.

Hopefully it would be one that puts a big smile on that beautiful face. He was going to show her how special she was and how she's always been his choice.
