Jimin carefully parted his chopsticks then he took a small piece of gimbap but just as he was about to eat, Jeongyeon was looking at him with small puppy eyes. He's never seen her like this before and the fact that she can talk to him normally after several weeks of being strangers and arch enemies.
"Ew can you please stop that. You're spoiling my food."
"God said share your blessings!" Jeongyeon said.
"Sorry I'm aetheist." He replied.
"If you starve me to death your parents will send you to jail for a lifetime."
"Like hell they'll do that." He rolled his eyes. But he still picked the gimbap with his chopsticks and pointed it to Jeongyeon's direction.
"You do know I can eat by myself, right." She pursed her lips.
"Do you want it or not." He asked, getting impatient.
Jeongyeon seemed like she doesn't have any other choice but to bite it from him so she quickly took a bite, averting her gaze from Jimin who's smirking smugly beside her.
"I hope you choke." Jeongyeon said.
"Likewise, but I want you to choke on something else tho."
She nearly spit out the gimbap she was still chewing and her head snapped to his direction with a very flustered expression making Jimin laugh. She doesn't know whether she should be disgusted or embarrassed from his comment.
'Maybe talking to her like this would be the best instead of avoiding her like a plague. Maybe the more I tease her, the more I get those adorable reactions from her. She might be annoying most of the times and everywhere I go, she just magically appears — it's not that bad at all.'
The both of them went back to his car where they sat there for a few seconds, getting ready to leave after more 15 mins.
"So, why did you join this racing event in the first place?" Jeongyeon mustered all of her courage inside her just to ask him those.
He blinked a few times and the urge to say something rude to her almost came up but the other part of his brain just wants to take a rest for being so sassy.
"How about this, I get to ask you three questions and you'll ask me three questions too. Deal?"
"Deal." She immediately said right away. "My turn first, I already gave you mine."
Jimin shifted comfortably on his seat, lowering it so he can partly lay down while his hands are behind the back of his head, slowly looking at the stars above them with the hood temporarily sets down.
"It was my freshman year in college and I happened to wind up near Itaewon where I noticed a lot of people are walking and visiting a certain place nearby" Jeongyeon rested her head comfortably by the headrest and listened to him. "I, then met Yoongi-hyung, and Hobi-hyung who were the daredevils of racing back then. It was basically a Hanbin and I's situation but the difference is that Yoongi-hyung asked Hobi-hyung to be his friend after the race. Ever since then, I was hooked into racing and they introduced me to the other four after."
Jeongyeon pictures a young Jimin in her mind and she couldn't help but smile at the thought of it. "Do you like what you're doing so far?"
He paused for a bit until he continued, "Yeah. I really do, it's a shame that my parents doesn't know about it. They thought I'm visiting Jihyo or Namjoon but the truth is, I'm racing with my whole heart out there."
She felt overwhelmed by the heart-to-heart talk with someone she less expected to be 'open'. She was thinking that he's going to brush her off again and bicker and fight like the usual, but she thought that he might be needing this type of conversation for so long.
"That's the second question by the way, last one."
"Hey! That's not fair!"
"Nah-uh. You asked me if I was happy with what I do nowadays and that's a question." He waved his finger at her like a warning and she sighed in exasperation.
"Okay, fine." She said in defeat.
Jeongyeon's been thinking about asking this question to him but she thinks that it's too sensitive to talk about,
'Here goes nothing.' She thought.
"Um. Any past relationships?"
The million dollar question that made the atmosphere awkward that she expected. Jimin was there with a tensed expression, and she could tell that it was a heavy topic for him. Jeongyeon bit her lip in regret as she sees his blank expression and she knows she fucked it up.
"Y-You don't have to—"
Jimin's phone began to ring loudly, saving her by the last minute. She straightened her posture and looked outside.
"Hello?" He lazily said.
"Hyung! The police left just now, you can go home right away." Jungkook said on the other line.
"Thanks, JK. I'll see you guys again next week."
He hangs up the phone and buckled his seat. Jeongyeon quietly did her seatbelt too and rhe whole car ride was silent once more. They've been passing by different houses and the street lights are quite dim and useless. Jeongyeon didn't dare to look at him but Jimin opened his mouth to speak,
"Yes, I did have one."

Mrs. Min made breakfast for the whole family, cooking bacons and eggs with a slice of cantaloupe for dessert. As per usual, Jimin always kicks Jeongyeon's foot underneath the table without his parents suspecting anything and it's an endless fight until they're done seeing each other for the whole day. Mr. and Mrs. Park would always ask Jeongyeon to sit with them and even though they didn't ask her to help Dahyun with eating, she would wipe some excess food around her mouth.
"So everyone, I was hoping if we could go out next week. I want Jeongyeon to tag along in this dinner." Mrs. Park said excitedly. Jeongyeon was quite shocked when Mrs. Park mentioned it to them. She'll keep her word on looking after Dahyun unless it's her day offs.
"Oh, thank you for inviting me. I would love to." She smiled.
After their meal, Jeongyeon placed all of the dirty dishes on the sink for Mrs. Min to wash up. She insisted not to do the dishes but Jeongyeon did anyway.
"It seems like you're having some fun with him, huh?" Mrs. Min winked at the younger girl, making her roll her eyes playfully.
"We're in a small process of getting to know each other until I, of course, fucked it all up again." She exhaled sharply. "Long story short, I asked him about his ex and he didn't like it at all."
Mrs. Min sighed with empathy towards her, putting her hand on her shoulder. "It's okay, he'll get through it, I'm very sure. He will open it whenever he's ready, dear."
Jeongyeon just hope that his feelings weren't too hurt by the mention of the past relationship topic.
'But seeing him broken like that, she could have been a very important person'
