Ch 19: "Time together?"

(Katie's pov)

I still couldn't believe someone did that to him. Felix is really sweet and kind with everyone. He didn't deserve that. I was trying to comfort him as he still remembered his old friend. Not gonna lie, I was afraid. What if he thought I was just like her? While we were in the room, Foxy and Pony arrived.

Foxy: See? I told you! They're fine!
Pony: You win. Felix, what happens?
Felix: It's nothing, guys. I'm better now.
Katie: Let's go down. The rest of the team must be worried.
Felix: Well then... and thank you.

I smiled at him.

Foxy: Again, our ship is sailing...
Katie: Shut up!
Felix: Leave him be. He's just kidding.
Pony: Come on, guys.

We all went down to the kitchen.

Kitty: What happened up there?
Katie: Oh... Nothing. We just talked.
Pandy: Yeah, sure...
Katie: What can we eat?
Kitty: Well, Tigry, Foxy and Rash went out to search for provisions earlier.
Katie: And...?
Kitty: And... they only found this.

She took out a bunch of cans. They were all filled with one thing: fruits.

Kitty: Willow got mad at them and went to search for more food by herself.
Katie: So that's why...

I forgot to mention... When we went downstairs again, I noticed Tigry had a wound in his face. I guess Willow slapped him. She can be quite violent sometimes.
I took a fruit can and started eating.

Katie: I guess it's not that bad, but I'm starting to miss fried fish.
Kitty: Yeah, me too, but this is what we have for now.

We were interrupted by a voice.

Willow: I'm back, guys.

She brought a bag full of apples, grass (idk who would eat grass but ok), carrots and seafood.

Rash: What? Willow, where did you get that from?
Willow: I checked all the stores I found. The next time you're gonna have to get supplies by yourselves. I'm exhausted.

We all got close to the bag.

Willow: HEY! If you all want from that food, you will have to finish what you brought.
Katie: But...
Willow: And stop complaining.
Tigry: Okay.

He whispered on my ear.

Tigry: *whispers* Don't mess with her. It's better to do what she wants us to, or else it will get worse. For all of us.
Katie: *sighs* Okay...

Even if it wasn't fair to fight just for some food (why can't she just share?), I had to agree. Not only for me, but also for Felix, Foxy, Pony and the rest of The Silver Paw. (Yeah, I love the group name too.) Willow went to her office, where she spent most of her time.

Kitty: Hmm... What if I make a fruit salad for all of us? That way it'll be easier to finish all of this, and I don't have anything else to do now.
Rash: That's a great idea!
Felix: We could help!
Katie: Yeah!
Kitty: Well then! May I teach you guys how to do it? None of you seem to have too much experience.
Katie: Well, I used to live all alone in my old apartment, so I kinda know basic cooking.
Pandy: I don't even know how to cut a lemon without ending up cutting my finger.
Felix: Yeah, me neither.
Tigry: I don't know too much about cooking, but I could definitely cut lemons.
Kitty: Okay, so we'll...

She stopped talking for a couple of seconds, then she got close to Pandy and whispered something on her ear.

Pandy: What a great idea!
Katie: What happens?
Kitty: Uhm... guys, can Pandy and I go talk to Katie for a moment?
Baren: Sure...
Kitty: Come.

We went to our room upstairs.

Katie: Ok. What happens?
Pandy: Kitty had an idea. We'll cook normally and then eat.
Katie: Is that why we are here?
Kitty: No. After eating, someone will have to wash the dishes.
Katie: So... I'll have to do that, right? Is that the great, ultra secret idea?
Kitty: Again, no. Not only you. Felix will help you.
Katie: Wh...? Okay, first: Don't you think it could be a little bit too much? Second: We don't know if he will accept. And third: I can't believe I'll have to repeat this. We're just friends!
Kitty: Are you still with that? Okay then.
Pandy: We're still going to do it, right?
Kitty: Ofc!
Katie: *sighs* Alright.

(Felix's pov)

When Katie, Kitty and Pandy went upstairs, Filip and Baren looked at me and started talking.

Baren: Felix, this is the perfect opportunity!
Felix: For what?
Filip: To spend more time with her, of course!
Tigry: They are right, you guys could maybe... I don't know... Nevermind. The point is you can do something with her.
Rash: We can make sure no one interrupts.
Felix: I don't know, guys.
Filip: Ok. This is definitely not the Felix I know. First, stop being so insecure.
Felix: Uhm...
Filip: Stand up. Now.

I stood up.

Filip: Okay, now look at Rash. Pretend he's Katie.
Rash: Wait- why me?
Baren: You're the shortest out of all of us.
Felix: Okay... Now what?
Tigry: Now look at his eyes and say: "Baby, I love you".
Felix: Isn't that way too cringy?
Filip: I thought you were used to it.
Baren: Me too.

I sighed.

Tigry: You can exclude the "Baby" part if you want.
Felix: I will. It's kind of... strange.

I looked at Rash and took his hands.

Felix: Katie, I...

I was interrupted by some footsteps, as Pony and Foxy came from upstairs.

Pony: Guys, guess what-?
Foxy: Are we interrupting something?

I looked at my hands, which were still holding Rash's. He released inmediately.

Rash: Yeah, uhm... Felix was practicing what he's gonna say to Katie.
Foxy: Ok... Anyway, Kitty told us she had an idea.
Filip: What is it?
Pony: Well... It's secret. Or at least Felix can't know about it.
Felix: Okay then. I'll go to my room. I have to change my clothes anyways.

I went upstairs to my room and searched for more clothes, since the ones I was wearing were dirty. While I was shirtless, I heard a voice behind me.

Katie: What the actual f*ck!?

I turned around and saw Katie at the door, as she covered her eyes and came in, turning red.

Felix: What are you doing here!?
Katie: I... I came to look for Pandy's katana. She said she left it here.
Felix: Ok, but... don't you know you have to knock!?
Katie: The door was opened, so I thought there was nobody in here!

Aw, jeez. I forgot to close it.

Felix: Oh... My bad. Sorry.
Katie: It's alright. Well, I'll leave now. It's hot in here.

I gave her a last look and she was completely red. After that, she got out and I closed the door.

(Katie's pov)

"What did I just see?..."

I couldn't stop thinking about that. Actually, my mind was still stuck at that moment, and I didn't notice I was now going downstairs.

Pony: Oh, wait. Katie is... red?
Kitty: What happened? Are you okay?
Katie: Uh... I'll go outside for a bit.
Filip: Ok, sure, but come back as quick as possible. If Willow notices, we're oofed.
