Ch 24: "Not right"

(Katie's pov)

Pandy: Aw, don't worry, Kitty. You have to understand. He just lost his best friend. I'm pretty sure anyone would act like that in front of this situation.
Kitty: *sobs* Are you sure?
Pandy: I am. I mean- Look at Katie! She lost some friends, but that didn't make her hate Felix or something like that. Right, Katie?
Katie: Yeah, I guess. *sighs* Look. No matter what, we all will stay together until the end, the world will go back to normal and you guys will be happy again!
Kitty: Okay...

Both Pandy and I hugged Kitty to make her feel better.

But... I still blamed myself for what happened to Foxy. If I just took care of him... This wouldn't have happened in the first place.

Pandy: Well... Time to sleep now. We have... work to do tomorrow.

While saying that last thing, Pandy turned kinda... worried.

Katie: Hey. Is everything alright?
Pandy: Yeah... Yeah, it is. Rest well, you two.
Kitty: See ya tomorrow.

Willow: No... No... No... *sighs* Okay. Here's what we're doing today. We need to go to a hospital nearby. There's... something we need to get from there.
Filip: What's the plan?
Willow: You're coming with us.
Filip: Why?
Willow: For asking. Now... Pandy. You're coming too.
Pandy: *Looks down* Okay...
Willow: Pony, you are good for this things. Come.
Pony: Fine.
Willow: And... I need someone else. Where's Tigry?
Baren: Upstairs. Inside the room. He locked himself.
Willow: He's not coming out, is he? Well then, I'll have to change the plan. Katie. You're coming with us.
Katie: Huh? Me?
Willow: "Huh? Me?" Yes, you. Or is there any other Katies in this place?
Katie: Wait, why me?
Willow: One, Tigry is definitely not coming and we need someone else. Two, you came with hospital clothes, so you must know the place. So, are you coming or...?
Katie: I'm going.

"Damn, why did I agree?"

Willow: Good. Felix, Baren, Kitty, stay here and make sure no one else comes. Understood?
Felix, Baren & Kitty: Understood.
Willow: And tell me when that tiger gets out.

With that said, we left. Everything outside was smooth. We didn't find too much infected, so that was perfect. We arrived at the hospital. It wasn't the same I worked at, but...

(Flashback...)

Beary: Alright, Katie. I may send you here anytime soon, so you must know this place. Take notes, okay?
Katie: Okay! It looks good from here. I can't wait to look inside!

So... We entered to this hospital. Well, it was more like a laboratory, which kind of surprised me.

I looked around the place. There was doctors and some scientists working together. I was amazed.

Beary: Katie, stay close to me. You might get lost.
Katie: Oh, okay!

I followed him as he started talking.

Beary: We are going to get in this room. Listen, everyone here has a card. We will need it in order to get in here.
Katie: But... Where are we going to get one?

He took something green out of his pocket.

Beary: Well... I have mine, too.

I took the card and inserted it in a scanner. The metal door opened inmediately.

Beary: And here, Katie, is where we keep it.
Katie: Huh, what is this?

There was just a little container with a green liquid inside of it.

Beary: It's a sample of Substance 128. We have managed to develop a possible cure to Ms. P's sickness.
Katie: Wow...

(Present time)

Pony: Katie, are you there?
Katie: Huh? Oh, yeah.
Willow: Focus, guys. There might be lots of infected in here.

We all entered the place. It looked so... destroyed. There was broken potions and blood everywhere. It was disturbing. Flashbacks of this place began running through my head, as the group and I got rid of every infected there was.

We finally got to that metal door, but... it was closed.

Katie: Shoot.

Willow shot at the door.

Katie: What the hell!?
Willow: You told me to shoot!
Katie: No, I... Nevermind.
Willow: You brought us here. There is an easier way to open it, right?

I remembered about the card.

Katie: There is. Wait a second.

I went downstairs and found an infected on the floor, knocked out and bleeding. It was an awful view. I checked on his pockets and found a green card with stains of blood on it. I grabbed it and took it upstairs.

Willow: There you are.
Katie: I found it.

I was about putting the card in the scanner, but I felt something wasn't right about it.

Katie: Why are we doing this, again?
Willow: It's none of your business. Now, open that f*cking door or else...
Katie: Ok, got it...

I opened it, kind of afraid, and once again, that container was there.

Willow: I knew I could use you in something.

She entered to the room and grabbed the potion.

Willow: We have what we came for. Let's go now.
Pony: Sure. Come, guys.

I noticed Pandy and Filip didn't even say a word since we got out. I knew Filip could be terrified, and confused. It was his first time, anyway. But Pandy... She must have known something.
We got out with no trouble, and walked to the base in silence. When we got there, Willow inmediately took Substance 128 to her office, without saying anything.

I went outside again, and found Felix sitting there.

Katie: Hey.

He looked back.

Felix: Hi there.

I sat by his side.

Katie: Are you okay?
Felix: Yeah, I guess... It's hard.
Katie: It sure is. Trust me, I know it too. But I'll be here for you, okay?
Felix: *nods* I don't know what I would do without you.

I hugged him. We were having such a sweet moment until-

Pony: Guys. Willow needs us.
