Ch 36: "The getaway"

(Felix's pov)

Felix: Katie, wake up!

She fainted.

Baren: What the-
Pandy: Guys! I said we have a problem.
Filip: What is it?

We could see these infected already noticed us.

Kitty: Uhh...

I carried Katie on my back.

Felix: Everyone, run!

We all started running. Five minutes of it, and we were apparently safe.

Pandy: Now that was some adrenaline!
Kitty: Has she...?
Felix: No. She is still unconscious.

This was all pretty weird. She was having good food, sleep, and health. What could cause this?
I left her laying on the grass, and sat on her right side. The rest sat down as well.

Baren: I don't get it. We left for just a little bit more than an hour. How did all those infected get to the Factory so fast?
Filip: Yeah, I'm wondering the same. Any ideas on what could have happened, Felix?
Felix: I don't know... Okay, maybe this will sound a little bit crazy, but I feel like somebody put us on the run. On purpose.
Pandy: A little bit crazy? Man, did you bump your head earlier? Who could be able to do THAT? Somebody who can control the infected? 逆天.
Kitty: I think his theory might make some sense. They all had one thing in common.
Felix: The orange eye.

(Katie's pov)

I opened my eyes, even though I didn't remember ever closing them.
My surroundings weren't the same as before. This place was completely black, yet not dark.
Suddenly, I heard a familiar voice behind me.

Brenda: "K-Katie! You came back!"

My eyes widened.

Brenda was behind me, with an infected eye and a fake smile.

Katie: Bren! My goodness, I'm so-
Brenda: Sorry? Yeah... Thought you would say that. To think that my best friend would do this to me...
Katie: W-What...?
Brenda: Now look at me. I am by far the most fucked up being I've known.
Katie: Wait, no, that's not-
Brenda: And you... You did nothing about it. But yeah, now look at us. As I was regretting ever leaving that Hospital, you were living a nice life as if nothing ever happened-
Katie: Oh, so you think my life was nice? I have been blaming myself EVERY SINGLE DAY for what happened to you! I once was forced to do something that would end up infecting more people! I even had to forsake another friend! Now tell me, how is that nice!? This is not even you!

She turned around, ran toward me, and grabbed my neck.

Brenda: I am not the only one.

I was able to hear more voices. Foxy, Beary, the zebra from the Refinery, even... My parents. They were all repeating three words, echoing loudly:

"It's your fault".
"It's your fault".
"It's YOUR fault".

Katie: ENOUGH!

Everything was silent again, and they were all gone.

???: You are right. That was not her.

Some purple portals started appearing around me, and a peculiar figure showed up.
It was like a tall man, in a purple suit, with a really big hat, an eye patch, and an orange eye. Just like those infected from the Factory.

Katie: The bag-headed man...
???: Bag-headed... Man? First off, that's a peculiar nickname.
Katie: You were the one messing with Pony's mind!
???: Hmm... Perhaps I notice bad memory here.
