(Katie's pov)
Katie: Y-Yes. That's what she said. Why?
The hummingbird looked at us more closely.
Helen: Honey, it's them.
Peyton: What do you mean, sweetie?
Helen: The Silver Paw.
Silence. I feared for a moment, but they both smiled at us. Helen extended her wing and I shook it.
Helen: Glad to finally meet you guys. Willow has told us a lot about Settlement 6.
Felix: Excuse me, Settlement 6?
Peyton: 'Kay, looks like these people aren't fully updated. Why don't we all get inside and talk? Our group is in the warehouse.
The members crossed looks. They all trusted them.
Kitty: Sure, we'd love to! Well, if Katie agrees.
Katie: *nods* Yes, we'd like to. Come on, everyone!
Both females (I assumed they were a couple, by the way-) led us inside, and once there, we could see quite a few individuals.
Helen: Guys, guess who we just found outside!
A meerkat talked.
???: I don't know, Minitoon?
Peyton: Ha. Ha. Ha. Very funny, Matthew.
A female red panda approached us, with her eyes widely open. She immediately focused on MY Felix. I'm not going to lie, I got a bit jealous.
???: Excuse me, do I know you?
Felix: I'm not sure... But you look kind of familiar as well.
Peyton: Ruby, stop looking at them like that. You are kind of creepy.
Felix: Wait, Ruby?
Ruby: Uhh... Yes?
Felix: Ruby? Claire's best friend?
"Why is he bringing up Claire again?"
The red panda facepalmed. Everyone else just stayed silent.
Ruby: Well, I'm definitely not anymore.
Felix: What? What happened?
Ruby: I just opened my eyes.
We all then heard another male voice. A hedgehog spoke.
???: Hey, don't dare mention Claire Cat here. Get it?
We all got confused.
Helen: Leave them be, Eric. I'll take care of it.
She spoke to us.
Helen: Okay, the other four members should be back soon. Why don't we sit here and talk?
Katie: Sure.
We sat and introduced ourselves properly. Then, Peyton and Helen spent some time explaining to us... Quite a few things. Turns out Willow started fearing we'd stop following her orders, so she created other groups to do her dirty job. These other groups, however, disappeared. Some didn't leave any trails behind, but some corpses were found in others.
Helen: We were the only ones left. I don't know why, but whatever happened to the other groups didn't happen to us. Nevertheless, we had a little problem.
Pandy: What do you mean?
Peyton: Claire. She used to be part of the group as well, and none of us trusted her. Well, almost none.
Helen: Our substitute leader, James Jaguar, got convinced by her, so he decided to let her stay. After a while, when we just started thinking she was a trustworthy ally, she betrayed us. She exploded our base and infected two of our members. We were put on the run and had trouble trusting each other for a while after that.
Felix: Hold on, are you saying Claire did that? For all this time I thought she was just a stereotyped brat!
Ruby: Well, people grow up, Felix. And you wouldn't like to see what she turned into.
Felix: Oh, so now you remember me!
Ruby: *smiles* Yes. It's good to see you again.
