Here it is, the longest and most cringy chapter in the whole book. Don't oof me, please. I'm sorry if this one is bad.

(Katie's pov)

That long-awaited Saturday finally arrived. Felix and I had been planning to have a full day together. Maybe, after all we had been through, we finally had time to know each other better. I was now going to his house, talking to him on my phone.

Felix: Are you excited?
Katie: Kinda. What are we doing today?
Felix: Whatever we want. We have all day long, we can do anything.
Katie: Well... That sounds good.
Felix: Be careful when driving.
Katie: Oh, don't worry, I'm an expert. I'll hang up now.
Felix: Okay, see you.

I arrived a couple of minutes later, and he was waiting for me outside.

Felix: Seriously?
Katie: What? We have to take care of our planet. Bringing a bike isn't a bad idea.
Felix: Okay then. If you say so...
Katie: Here. Always wear a helmet.
Felix: Thanks.

We went on bike, I was following Felix since he told me he knew a place I'd like.

Felix: It's amazing. There are lots of trees, and a lake too.
Katie: Wow, that sounds nice. Wait, watch out!
Felix: Huh? Whoa!

He fell when running into a tree while looking at me. (Kind of strange.) I stopped for a little bit and got close to him.

Katie: Are you okay?
Felix: Yeah, I guess.
Katie: Get up.

I extended my hand to his and helped him.

Katie: Are you sure you are okay? Does it hurt?
Felix: Don't worry, I'm okay. Seriously.
Katie: *sighs* You scared me! Why weren't you looking at the path?
Felix: Sorry, something... distracted me.

(Felix's pov)

Yeah. The distraction was her face. I was too concentrated looking at her that I didn't notice I was about to crash with a tree.

Felix: Let's just go.
Katie: Okay.

We got up and continued our way to the park. When we got there, Katie looked surprised and happy at the same time.

Katie: Wait- I do remember this place!
Felix: Really?
Katie: Yeah! I used to come here every weekend with my... parents.

After saying that, she just lowered her head. Her expression changed completely to a sad one.

Felix: What is it?
Katie: Oh... No, it's... it's just I remembered them.
Felix: Where are they?
Katie: They... They died in an airplane accident when I was five. They're in a better place now.
Felix: Oh, I'm so sorry...
Katie: It's okay. I didn't spend the rest of my childhood alone, anyways. What about you? Do you live with your parents?
Felix: No, they moved to France a couple of years ago. We're still in contact, though.
Katie: Oh... Good for them, I guess.

We walked around while talking. The sun was shining, and the weather was warm.

Felix: So... what do you prefer? Winter or summer?
Katie: Winter.
Felix: Wow... You didn't even think about it! But... Summer is better.
Katie: Yeah? Why?
Felix: Can you go to the beach on a snowy day? Or swim in a pool? No, you are just staying at home, hoping you don't catch a cold.
Katie: Look, use logic. You can fight against the cold. Just use a coat! Or two. What am I going to do when it's 40 grades outside and I'm melting? Tear my skin apart? Walk around throwing myself water every thirty seconds? That's a waste.
Felix: And what can you do in winter, huh?
Katie: Idk. Play with snowballs, ride sleighs, ice-skating or just chill while drinking some hot chocolate. Unlike going to the beach, none of these activities damage your fur. Take that! Winter: 1. Summer: 0.
Felix: You win, big-brained.
