6 Days until the attack, 62°F

Morning light flutters upon my eyes as I stare out upon the base. It's only 0500, but I'm already awake. Always have been an early riser. It's how I've survived so long...

The cool December morning breeze passes through my hair. Looking out unto the port town, I can see the start of Christmas decorations being hung across Honolulu. 'It really is December, eh?'

???: "What are you doing up this early?" An unknown Yorkie voice calls for me.

When I turn around, looking back inside (I'm on the window stool looking outwards), I see a blonde maid. If I remember, she was...

"Sheffield, right?"

Sheffield: "Yes. A pleasure, ver... Master."

She was so going to call me either 'vermin' or 'virgin.' The latter one wouldn't be so far off...

"Sheffield... I was enjoying the morning view." I turn back to look outside. "A nice morning like this should be enjoyed, don't you think?" My voice becomes relaxed, like I'm becoming one with nature. My room's window faces north, so the northwest winds are blowing my light shirt about, the cap upon my head loose enough to be affected by the light winds. The flavour of dew reaching my nose. The quiet humming of the birds. So relaxing...

"You can lower your guard, Sheffield." I snap out of it and roll back into the room, looking at Sheffield. She looks like she's always on high alert. From what Illustrious said, Sheffield, Repulse and mini-Bel were the last to arrive to base, so they wouldn't know what Ray did directly. But she would've learned from Belfast about what had happened. "I'm not Ray."

Sheffield: "And I understand that. Belfast has told me as much."

"But you'll need to see for yourself to believe it, right?"

Sheffield: "You're correct. You know me so well."

"But we just met." I chuckle and pick up my mug of coffee. "Anyways, I assume you were here to wake me up?"

Sheffield: "Yes. But as you are already awake, I should take my leave."

I sip out of my mug. "Right. Have a good day."

Sheffield: "...you too..." she mutters. I can't help it but smile as she leaves my room. I check the file I hid beneath my desk when Sheffield entered. While reading (and sipping), I head to my office.

'Hmm...' Aside from the 7 Royal girls and 23, all of the kansen on base are all Eagle girls. 'Still doesn't explain why Zed's here...' I reach my office. 'Heh, just in time.'

Walking in, I place the file I had on the desk and look through the file cabinet to see if I could find anything. Realizing it was a waste of time, I remember the terminal on my desk. I boot it up.
